Kona II: Brume is a chilly, otherworldy narrative adventure in which you play a Canadian detective in the 1970s investigating a surreal disturbance in Northern Québec. We got a brief, tone-setting teaser announcement along with the news that the title will be coming to PS5 and PS4 in 2023.
An otherworldly mist known as the Brume has detached a rural mining town from the outside world and is disrupting the very nature of its reality. The sequel to Kona, Kona II: Brume picks up where its predecessor left off, continuing the mystery at the heart of its story
Kona II: Brume will be playable at the upcoming Gamescom, so if you are interested and going, you can check it out. The original Kona is included as a part of PS Plus Extra's catalogue of games if you want to get caught up on the story, and you can read our review for our full thoughts.

I really should get round to Kona. Saw it on that PS Plus thing so I have no excuses. I did think it was a skateboarding game for several months though, only other Kona I know’s the old park in Florida.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the original as a monthly Essential game in the run up to release then. Same angle as Man of Medan took this month to hype the next title in that series.
