The wildly popular Genshin Impact is about to get a massive injection of content in the form of Summer Fantasia, Genshin Impact's free version 2.8 update.
It's summertime in the world of Teyvat, a fact that will be represented in the returning Golden Apple Archipelago location, which has been revamped and repopulated with all kinds of summery activities, and a golden new look.
Go boating in your Waverider, engage in some nautical co-op activities in the Reminiscent Regimen's various game modes, or just relax and unwind with some fishing.
There will be new quests, puzzles, outfits, enemies to overcome and events to partake in, in addition to the new playable character Shikanoin Heizou.
Another playable character, Kuki Shinobu, recently came to Genshin Impact in the second phase of the title's 2.7 updates.

Nice to be going back to the islands but we're one patch closer to 3.0 and the new land of Sumeru. Hopefully, if leaks are to be believed, that will be next in another 6 weeks.
I wish they’d add the option of starting a new game. I haven’t played this since getting my PS5, but don’t want to open another account just for this game.
@Nightcrawler71 seriously…the lack of being able to start a new game is so puzzling. I’ve been waiting to jump in, and like many I played a few hours at launch. Hope they add this soon..I’m ready
@frankmcma same. I’m willing to dive back in, but haven’t played it in so long that I just wanna start afresh.
Let me know when they get rid of level gating (adventure rank), and I might considering jumping back in
@frankmcma - They'll never add a new game option. Your best bet is to delete your Genshin account. Theoretically you should be able to start over after 30 days have passed.
I've never tried this as my account has been financially invested into so I can't be certain it won't just sign you back into your old account, even after 30 days. If you have no financial ties to the game though you have nothing to lose.
