Marvel’s Wolverine is still many years away from releasing on the PS5, but that isn’t stopping developer Insomniac Games from kitting out its employees with a new wardrobe. Creative director Brian Horton proudly posted a picture of himself on Twitter modelling his new swag, which features the game’s logo on a black, crew neck t-shirt.
Unsurprisingly, the image has already attracted thousands of likes, proving that anticipation is sky-high for Logan’s new-gen debut. It’s going to be a big generation for the Burbank-based developer, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also in production – and potentially due out next year. How many of you are hyped for the comic book titles the studio’s got cooking?

I know a lot of people say they are burned out of comic book games. But if insomniac is making them, I'll never burn out.
@Earthbound28 Kinda agree. Can't wait for Spidey 2 and Wolverine!
I would love a modern day super hero rpg. Looking forward to wolverine
I had a blast with the PS3 Wolverine game and this is practically guaranteed to be better so I’m pretty stoked for it.
🤣 That subtitle.
I’m hoping they go for a M rating for the Wolverine title.
It’s just not Wolverine to me unless arms are flying off. That’s what made Logan such a good X-Men film. It felt like the comics.
@Th3solution All things must be Stay references for the next year. It's Internet rule 38, right?
@Elodin neeeeed that
@DETfaninATL crazy fun on that game, get flashbacks to the helicopter scene everyday
@Th3solution Haha, I liked that one too! 😂
Ngl I'm really hoping Hugh Jackman voices it despite him retiring the character
Am I the only one who's hoping this is a The Last Of Us linear narrative driven game rather than another open world affair?
Hey Bub here's your Team Shirt
This year's Marvel and DC offerings? Nooope
Next year and beyond? Yep, yep, yep.
@theMEGAniggle ultimate alliance 1 and 2 were great. I never played 3, but the draw of gear drops makes an easy way to create an RPG. Or they the origin story could be some type of radiation that slowly gives you powers letting you choose your path(powers) to becoming the hero or villian you like.
N.i.c.e this game is gonna be amazing.wolverine is a iconic character.insomniac is the best publisher now.word up son
@get2sammyb don't say anything you can't retract.
@Elodin hmm would playing as your own original superhero or playing as an already established superhero but changing their story through your actions be better? Like be Spider-Man but choose evil actions and become some evil pawn of memphisto
Feel like the latter would be better
Hopefully both this and Spider-Man 2 are normal single player games and not live service.
@theMEGAniggle what a great idea. Adding to that, not even knowing what your doing is evil until the end would be a great twist begging for a sequel to come out good in the end.
many years away.... say what now ??!?!??
I loved PS3 Wolverine, I love Wolverine character at all... So. My hopes are that this game will be about Wolverine, not Logan's tragic story, not love story, just Wolverine. Pure. Animal. Brutal. Action. As PS3 game was. ...and of course singleplayer.
It is impossible that this game turns to be anything but amazing.
Insom is really one of the only devs I trust for the next few years to get the most out of PS5’s hardware. Such a great company. I can’t wait for SM2 and Wolverine but I sincerely want their team to have a good work environment even more. Take your time, guys! But not too long 😄
@Elodin that would actually be incredible, one massive plot twist at the end. I doubt something like that could ever be made but we can dream
@rumple1980 @GunValkyrian it’s a 2024 game no? Far from being a swan song game unless this gen is stupid short
@playstation1995 I completely agree Insomniac are definitely Sony's MVP
@OrtadragoonX Insomniac's Wolverine game having a Mature rating would be excellent, here's hoping!
@theMEGAniggle Insomniac never confirmed a release year, everyone's just hopeful it's releasing a year after Spider-Man 2 in 2023.
Personally I suspect it's not releasing until 2025, since it will be a full length game similar to Spidey 1 & 2, not shorter like Miles Morales.
@GunValkyrian
I think this generation is going to last longer than the norm.
Kind of like how the PS3 and 360 weren’t replaced until 2013. I think we are in for a 9 or 10 year cycle this time. Which I’m fine with.
@KidBoruto why did I have it in my head for 2024? Either way I'd have end of this gen as 2027 at the earliest, going off of last gen. Hopefully its a long one because I don't feel like splashing almost £500 on a console anytime soon.
@theMEGAniggle Yeah 2027 sounds about right! Thankfully we still got a good 5 years left if that's the case.
I'm hopeful we should be getting a PS5 Pro by 2024, if Wolverine does release that year they could bundle it.
(this is purely fan speculation, I have zero insider knowledge)
@KidBoruto PS5 Pro would legitimately end my foray in console gaming. I don't believe in this mid gen upgrade BS. I would rather just buy a PC and upgrade it when I want.
Wolverine would be just after the mid point of this gen which is weird to envision seeing as it feels like ages away but really isn't.
@theMEGAniggle I dislike having to spend more money on an extra device/console sure, but I'm too lazy to bother with upgrading a gaming PC over time.
Not to mention I must have PS4/PS5 trophies, don't care for Steam's achievements UI/skin.
@KidBoruto I feel you, trophies aren’t all that important for me but are for a lot of my PS friends. The main thing for me is the games and convenience of playing online with my friends.
Games are now being ported to PC and a lot of games are now online cross play. I see no reason to be tied to console gaming anymore. And for some reason everything Sony have done this gen has kind of pushed many other people to that outcome rather than reeling them back in. Think Sony are going to have a problem at some point where their base shifts to different platforms.
@theMEGAniggle Funnily enough I used to not care about trophies...then I started having fun seeing those trophies pop on my screen and wanted more lol.
I'm guessing you don't care for much of Nintendo's exclusives? Those are never hitting PC, outside of illegal emulation.
@KidBoruto It is a satisfying feeling to be honest. I like Nintendo, their games do kind of shine and the kid in me will never not appreciate the charm of their exclusives and characters.
I may come off as strange by saying this but to me I don't view Nintendo as 'console' gaming. Like of course they make consoles and forever will but its not the same if that makes sense. Might just be me but I've always kind of viewed them as a little different, maybe closer to going to an arcade, especially with some of their 'gimmicky' features and stuff.
@theMEGAniggle That's fair! I didn't have anything Nintendo until the Wii U, so I've always viewed them as a console.
