The PS Plus Essential monthly games always pop up on the first Tuesday of the month, and would you believe it, we've reached August's selection already. Available to all PS Plus subscribers on all tiers, this month's lineup is now available to download and add to your library.
As a reminder, this month sees a fresh trio of PS5 and PS4 games join the service. It's a good one, too; we have Little Nightmares (PS4), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (PS5, PS4), and Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5, PS4). There's a great range here, and we highly recommend all three titles. Our latest PS Plus poll tells us you fine folks are loving August's offering, with 44 per cent of you saying you're "very happy" with the selection.
You can claim all three games regardless of your subscription tier, but remember that those on PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium have access to hundreds more games. If you want to keep track of everything, you can see a list of All PS Plus Games through the link.
Anyway, what will you be firing up first? Tell us in the comments section below.

amazing line up, everyone needs to play yakuza
Does this version of Pro Skater come with the 120FPS mode?
I wish I could experience the whole Yakuza series fresh all over again.
Not a bad month at all and will be trying out Tony Hawk and Little Nightmares since I already played Yakuza 7.
Well yakuza 7 is in the game pass, but it's a good lineup.
@BaeYoobin I'm slowly working my way through the series I just need a few months off between them on to Kiwami 2 next but Zero & K1 were both amazing
@LN78 well yes. It includes PS4/PS5 versions
I'm very happy with the lineup. Last month wasn't bad either, got the chance to play and finish Crash 4.
This month I'll play the crap out of THPS 1+2 since I've been on the verge of buying it so many times.
I will download yakuza like a dragon and tony hawk pro skater 1+2.i already have little nightmares.i have the complete edition.word up son
@NeThZOR Cool. Is it just a normal performance/fidelity option?
@Decoy_Snake Did you play Kiwami first or Zero? I only ask as I have seen differing opinions on where to start! Absolutely love both the Judgement games but haven't touched any of the Yakuza yet!!
@Mostik I started with Zero, just made sense since it's the first game technically, and I loved it. The club management mini game is so good.
not available yet in my timezone , could changing it make them appear on the store?
Time to install THPS and play around with it. I remember playing some of it back in the days, just don't know anymore which one it was.
Now this is a solid line-up. Will consider playing Yakuza 7 sometime once I have enough free time from college. Tony hawk is not my cup of tea only because im not good at skateboarding games lol but I think it's good for those who likes that genre. Little Nightmares will definitely play.
@Decoy_Snake yeah you defiantly need to take breaks, amazing series hope you enjoy them!
Can't wait to play Ichi and meet up with the cop, the bum and the twin sister again. Love that gang.
What a month!
Downloading all 3 and super excited to play them all.
Can't remember the skateboarding lingo from approximately 20 years ago... Should I be stoked, amped or something else?
@BaeYoobin Yessir! Best month in a LONG time
Surprised we got the cross gen deluxe edition of pro skater shame we didn't get the complete edition of little nightmares I own the game but don't have the dlc
Will be nice to have the PS5 version of THPS for now until I pick up a physical copy. The other games I already own...
Already own THPS and Y7, but glad I held off on the THPS upgrade, thanks Essential.
@BaeYoobin sure will ...since I had finished Yony Hawk 15 - 20 years ago....and little nightmares also (not 20 years ago, though, hahha). Have you played it? I know it's been praised....
@sorteddan No you shouldn't be amped or with high hopes. It's not as half as fun as back in the days.....or years
Thanks for the reminder, I went ahead and claimed all 3 games!
I definitely plan to check out Tony Hawk and Little Nightmares soon.
