PS Plus Extra, Premium Members Get All Main Yakuza Games Before End of 2022

This is one hell of a line-up. Glad to see more people may actually give Yakuza a shot now! (Note: They are all worth it!)

GamePass has had them as well. Some rotated out then back in again. So Sega must be happy with game subscriptions. Great series!

This is good news did wonder if Microsoft were trying to buy Sega as a lot of SEGA games were getting pulled from Now so this eases some worries for me.

Still got 5 & 6 to play, as well as LAD, which I'll probably now claim and keep until I have completed 5 & 6.

Such a great series, I love the seriousness of it all one minute, the next you can be doing something batshhhh crazy.

For someone who never played any of them, this is actually amazing

This is great - I've almost bought the remasters several times, holding back due to time required, backlog and uncertainty over how much I'd really enjoy them.

This takes away all such issues.

Both yakuza like a dragon and yakuza 0 are awesome.and more yakuza is really good.you can start with yakuza like a dragon or yakuza 0.both are pretty good games.word up son

The best games series ever. Those who haven’t played it are in for a real treat.
Bit crap they cheekily stuck 3,4, and 5 in the premium tier to get people to upgrade though. Technically they are remasters, but they are PS4 games!

If you go for the 100% / plats (on most it’s the same). They probably average around 120hrs each, the longest hit 200hrs for me, which was 5.

This is great news. By far my favorite game series of all time. Already played them all on my Xbox already but I know I might try and platinum some as well. Super great!

Yakuza series is excellent, highly recommend it to anyone with Plus Extra. Hopefully in time Judgment and Lost Judgment will follow

@themuckman They're not, the remasters of 3, 4, and 5 are just for PS Plus Premium.

class games i triple dipped with all 6 , playstation xbox and steam, my fave is majima once he gets started i cant stop laughing love that character lol and my fave side quest is pocket circuit. love those wee cars ive searched high and low for parts!

Awesome for newcomers. I'm already done with the entire series but this is nice to see.

I know I’m against the majority but I’ve never been able to get into one, finding them generally quite poor. But I love the high-praise that the series from fans, so I’m glad to have these on the service to try again!

Hopefully, no one complains we had some of these Yakuza games as part of PS+ in the past. There will always be overlap or the alternative would be great games never being on the service for new members because members from a few years back got it.

With this they should give us Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6 60fps ps5 patch

@Futureshark I played all of the Kiryu Yakuza games after getting hooked with Kiwami 1 (remake of the first), and needed around 50-60 hours per game doing most side missions, which were mostly well written and fun. Did that over the course of a year while also playing other games. Loved the mix between sincere and heartfelt stories with many plot twists and crazy Japanese humour sprinkled in.

@TheCollector316 only Kiwami 1 was on Plus previously. The original PS3 versions of 4 and 5 were too, but this time it's the remasters which are different SKUs.

On a separate note, why is Push Square using the Chinese cover for the article header? Pretty rare to see that one.

Bah, the only thing I was interested in was the yakuza remastered games, but that's only premium tier, I already have all the other yakuza games legit on disc 😤😤

Shouldn't the remastered games be on extra? After all they are PS3 games remastered for ps4 and play on PS4? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

@bindiana some more relief for your hearth. Sega makes a lot of money for Pachinko (production and use) and the manage of their ips for the creation of merchandise. MS has never buy something big full price and has only bought companies pure software focus, they aren't stupid, they know they don't have any business buying something like factories (where the pachinkos are made), the land where this factories are, contracts with other business and dealers, etc to then sell half the price all the stuff they don't need and lose money. Does this mean they aren't going to be bought? No but they are doing very very well money wise and have no problems like the kind of companies MS buys like credibility or with the law.If someday you hear they sell their pachinko division then yes you should be worried but until that day there is nothing to worry about.

@Galo81 I have always been of the idea that prequels (Yakuza 0) are more enjoyable when you already played some of the principal line (Yakuza 1,2,3,4,5) so I would recommend playing the 1 first, not the 0. "Like a Dragon" is actually Yakuza 7 so if you want to enjoy this the most I would recommend this being the last.

@TommyNL too many games to play! I've downloaded a couple of games from the service and I still don't have time to play them but I love playing hollow knight ❤️ now I have Yakuza 3-5 to play, I'm gonna be bombed lolz 😂😂

@Galo81 start with Yakuza 0, then kiwami 1&2 then 3-5 remastered, dead souls if you can find it, then 6, yakuza like a dragon after

@awp69 they've all been on PS Now before as well, but a month before new PS+, Sega removed all their games from Now. I assumed they were going to start up their own subscription like EA and Ubisoft, but guess they were just doing it to bring the games back for marketing reasons.

We’re most of these not on ps now already? Did they just remove them so can re add them?

Speaking of Sega liking subscription model, do we know how the royalty structure works for games on PS+ and Gamepass? I've wondered for some time.
