There is just one week left for you to claim the six free months of Apple TV+ offered through a PS5 console. Both new and existing subscribers can take advantage, extending your membership for half a year without any charge. The deal will expire on 22nd July 2022 after sticking around for one year.
In order to claim the offer, follow these steps:
- Find the Apple TV app from your PS5 console’s search bar, or find it under “All apps” in Media home.
- Download and open the Apple TV app and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Sign in with your Apple ID or create an Apple ID if you don’t already have one.
- Enjoy your six free months of Apple TV+.
Once the six months are up, you can either cancel your subscription or stick with it at £4.99 per month. TV shows like Severance have been popular across social media as of late, so this is your chance to catch up on all the chatter. Just note this offer can only be activated directly through a PS5 system. There's no option to do it on the PS Store.

I redeemed and never used it once 😂
Damn, might need to buy another PS5 just for this amazing deal.
Anyone watched anything worthwhile. Heard Ted Lasso, Severance and For all Mankind were all pretty good.
Mythic Quest probably most on brand here.
Update: Signed up. But then realised I already have 100 shows on Netflix and Disney I never watch because i'm always playing games. Like @Jacko11 I'll probably never use it
Severance is SUPER good! I don't know if there's anything there that's interesting but I can vow for Severance
Already have it, but a good deal for a few great shows. Ted Lasso is fantastic as is Severance. I'd also recommend See. It is quite unique. The movie Greyhound is great as well.
Thanks for this reminder…I’ve had my PS5 since the beginning and had missed this deal.
I got 5 months elsewhere and then this 6 months and barely watched anything. Ted Lasso season 1 is amazing even if you don't like sport but have yet to watch season 2. I was told to wait for Severance as the ending of season 1 is an annoying cliffhanger.
Yep, Severance was excellent IMHO, with Patricia Arquette being the most sinister boss since Darth Vader.
Also enjoyed For All Mankind, binged S1&2 and now waiting for s3 to finish to binge through that.
Thank you. I had no idea this applied to existing subscribers.
@themightyant definitely check out severance.
Shining girls is ok too. And they have Charlie Brown.
Rest is pretty rubbish. I think there was one called Roar - a series written by women for women (feminist). One episode is about a woman sleeping with a duck. You might wanna watch that.
Nice reminder, thanks PS.
I'll probably not bother though, have a full sky package with Netflix and also Amazon prime, and im really not making enough use of any of them! If I sign up for it im bound to forget untill a payment goes out... 😂
Just redeemed it. I had no idea Apple TV+ has such limited content. Compared to Netflix, you get close to nothing.
@themightyant Foundation is imho pretty goddamn amazing, strays a ways from the books and if you've read those you might be mindful off it. But on its own it's easily just a great sci-fi watch
@naruball yeah… Apple goal seems to only have original content so there’s that. Also I think the monthly price is about 1/3 of Netflix. While they don’t have much I can vouch for Ted Lasso, For All Mankind, Severance, Mythic Quest and Prehistoric Planet is quite well done too.
@Jacko11 same. Redeemed it just for Pachinko which I haven't watched yet. Just too many good stuff on netflix.
Have to say Apple tv have been knocking it out of the park this year, Severance,Slow Horses and recently Black Bird are all top notch..
Totally forgot about this and for once am actually in a good place to watch some new stuff. Thanks for the reminder and the reccomendations from everyone!
CODA is a great film, and the Tom Hanks futuristic film was good (thought the WWII was pretty weary personally). Ted Lasso was good, and For All Mankind was good what I saw of it (wife had zero interest so didn't see much before my six months ran out)
@naruball it doesn’t have the filler content but has some of the best exclusive content out there. Unfortunately without the ability to want the office for the 100th time it’s hard to justify subscribing for extended periods.
@naruball put all the streaming services together and you'll get something eventually. In your very own one-stop-shop
Do you have to watch it through your PS5? Or can I just set it up on my PS5 then watch it on another device? I have a Roku for my TV and would rather watch through that.
@RunGMhx Thanks. I watched the first season of Mythic Quest, but I'm afraid I didn't enjoy it very much. I greatly enjoyed The Morning Show, though. It's a very well written and nuanced show.
Admittedly, I don't like the male leads of Severance and Ted Lasso and I was surprised to see that it constantly suggests movies, most of which you have to pay to watch.
I'll finally watch "See", which is... better than nothing.
@SystemAddict I know what you mean, but on Netflix there are ton of things I'd like to watch. I don't mind that it doesn't have everything. It has enough. I thought that Apple TV+ would have more, considering how successful it's been.
I signed up a few weeks ago and was shocked how awful the UI was. It’s worse than Amazon.
I didn’t think the content was that bad but then I realised I had to pay for most of the things I wanted to watch. It seems to recommend shows it thinks you might like (that you have to buy on the store).
But it’s a free trial so can’t complain too much.
Some shows I did like were :
Physical with Rose Byrne - about a women with an eating disorder in the 80’s. It’s actually really funny and the soundtrack is amazing. I’ve only watched season 1 so far because I noticed the season 2 episodes were being released weekly - “Why you do this to me Dimmy?!?” I just want to binge goddamn it! 😄
For All Mankind - a what if / alternate history show based around the Space Race and Lunar landings in 60’s/70’s. I’ve only seen the first season and really enjoyed it but I can imagine this being a Marmite show.
Prehistoric Planet - think ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ but with WAY better special effects and narrated by the wonderful David Attenborough himself. Loved this!
Also, I didn’t realise how many movies I bought from iTunes (10+ years ago) - but they’re all included in my Library, which is handy. I forgot I even owned them.
@Nightcrawler71
It's tied to your apple ID which you can create when you sign up for the freebie, so you use that to login to your device of choice.
I use the app on my LG oled, but you can use your phone, PC, tablet as well as PS5 really. You just login there and off you go.
@Jacko11 you missed out! There's some great shows on Apple TV. Ted Lasso, Severance, Physical, The Shrink Next Door, The Morning Show, Servant, Schmigadoon. Enjoyed all of them. Give it a go.
@Nightcrawler71 I tried it on my android. There is no app for it, but you can watch it through your browser.
@Futureshark Cheers 👍
Worth it just for Severance alone.
Severance is probably the best new show of 2022. Yeah I said it, even better than Netflix's Boo Bitch.
Edit: Slow Horses is also worth a watch.
@Milktastrophe yea I’ve them two in particular. Amassing a library, lol they’re not going anywhere getting round to em
People need to stop sleeping on Pachinko. Best show on there. Severance is really good too.
Thanks for the reminder! I'll def claim next time I'm on my PS5.
