Publisher Merge Games has announced a native PS5 version of cyberpunk delivery title Cloudpunk will arrive on the PS Store on 19th August 2022, with a physical version coming one week later. There will be a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade for current owners, which will grant you instant access to a 4K resolution at 60 frames-per-second. The trailer found above compares the last-gen version with next month's new edition.
As well as a 4K resolution running at 60fps, the draw distance, render distance, and fog quality have all been improved, and so have volumetric lighting and bloom effects. PS5 activity cards are supported along with the DualSense pad's adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, speaker, and light bar. For the first time on consoles, a cockpit mode will also be available.
"Completing deliveries has never felt better with full DualSense support, including haptic feedback on rain effects, adaptive triggers that kick in when your vehicle is damaged, and a lightbar reflecting your all-important fuel status," a press release explains. "And finally, explore with a brand-new perspective in the much-awaited cockpit mode, putting you in the driving seat."
In our Cloudpunk PS4 review, we awarded the game a 6/10 and called it a "sci-fi noir deliver 'em up [that] does just enough". One of our issues related to some small technical problems, so let's hope they've either already been fixed with patches or have been addressed with this native PS5 version.

This is a nice surprise, finally bought this last month in sale and it plays dreadfully on a PS5, will actually get to the play game at long last!
@PaperAlien We must have picked it up at the same sale. It really has a nice, old school cyberpunk aesthetic going for it. I haven’t gotten around to playing it yet, but based on your experience and the ‘before’ clips in the video, it seems like I should hold off for the PS5 upgrade before jumping in.
Great game but I already beat it and they still can’t be bothered to bring the sequel/expansion so I’ll pass
No pavements in cyberpunk land, wheres the amazon delivery boy meant to bump 3 wheels of his van up onto ??
just made my appreciate Death Stranding more (and hope for part 2)
Paid $5 for Steam, fine for the price.
Picked this up during the time CP2077 flopped globaly...nice game, not for every mainstream player, but still nice. Happy about the free ps5 upgrade
