Raji: An Ancient Epic came to PS4 back in 2020, and the unique setting inspired by Hindu and Balinese mythologies combined with its solid combat system made it an enjoyable outing.
Today we learned that an Enhanced Edition of the title is now available. This revamped version adds ray-tracing, additional game modes, an impressive array of new and improved animations, subtitles in six languages and a new Hindi voiceover, in addition to a plethora of fixes, tweaks and quality of life improvements.
If you own the original game, you can upgrade free of charge, and if you don't, the Enhanced Edition is currently discounted by 66% until 3rd August.
What do you think of Raji: An Ancient Epic Enhanced Edition? Did you play the base game back when it launched? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Never heard of this one. Anyone at Push Square play it?
I quite like the look of this..the animation looks very slick and i'm getting a distinct prince if persia/god of war vibe from it..i think i might just add this to my library for a rainy day..thanks for pointing this out guys 👍
@Danloaded £6.79...bought and i'll have a sneaky peak later when i'm back from work..i'll let you know if its good bud..i dont mind being a tester for this..
Ps4 version and it adds Ray tracing??
That seems to be a mistake.
@Reeneman
Doesn't need to be. Crysis Remastered also has ray-tracing support for the native PS4 version. As far as I know that's the only PS4 game that does that. Raji could be the second
That’s nice, although it’s not a surprise is it? Pretty sure they announced well in advance that the enhanced edition for next-gen consoles were on the way.
Good it’s on sale, if I don’t have time to finish it on Game Pass I can pick it up on PS5 or PC for cheap.
Everything i've read about this game sounds very average BUT I am interested in the Hindu and Balinese mythologies, or any games that widen the cultural blueprint of gaming. Always interesting to discover other countries, myths, legends and see it presented through that lens.
EDIT: Was about to buy on PSN but just saw it's on Game Pass, thanks @Relygon. Will give it a try.
@Danloaded
I've played this and very much enjoyed it. I love that games can celebrate all cultures, and this is just a fine little game in a setting and culture we rarely get to celebrate. I thought the combat was pretty good and the whole package well delivered.
I could have played it on GP, but I thought it was PS now in the past?
I've played this as my my mum was born in India and lived there till she was 11, so she watched me play it and recognised some of the stories and stuff.
It is nothing groundbreaking or anything, but I found it quite enjoyable. I only stopped playing as I got stuck late on and could not figure how to track back to where I needed to be. But not sure if that was me missing something.
@Reeneman @ThaBEN Yes, just because the PS5 supports it in hardware doesn't mean you can't do the same process in software - just takes a bit more effort.
This looks good - may be worth a punt at less than £7 though I can't remember anything about this from first time around.
@sanderson72 ok then it really seems to be that software solution like in Crysis.
Price seems to be real fair for that game. With nearly finishing Horizon 2 now after around 100 hrs of playtime (since Feb) and nearly platinum I will take a step away from these large games for the next weeks.
Some smaller titles like Stray, Hoa, The Ascent and Raji are very welcome
For the asking price I think I'll give it a try... Man just imagine an Assassins Creed in India xD
This looks interesting enough and for the price it definitely merits a try. I’ll likely pick this up as I have nothing to play right now.
EDIT: I ended up picking this up and just played through the first chapter. It’s a really good looking game and definitely a good time. If you’re into action-adventure / hack ‘n slash type games this is definitely worth the reduced price. Recommended for sure!
I bought it back then & enjoyed it. Not a perfect game but not a bad one either + liked the setting! And FOC? Kudos!
@BrotherFilmriss There is one.
@Danloaded ok so i've played for around an hour and a half and its quite a nice game..the animation is stunning as is the general graphics..it reminds me of ico but with a smidge of god of war and prince of persia thrown in..for £6.79 its hard to fault to be honest..
@Northern_munkey good to know. Its on my wishlist for now 🙂
I love the style on at this price it will never be a physical release maybe ill try it anyway.
@Northern_munkey I was on the fence only because of my monstrous backlog but I just picked it up too, thank you for that haha
@Khayl glad to help..👍
