Inscryption will release for PS5 and PS4 on 30th August 2022, it's been confirmed. A pre-order page for the PS5 version is already live on the PS Store, which confirms a launch price of £14.39/$17.99 thanks to a 10 per cent discount for PS Plus members. Publisher Devolver Digital has also said this is actually the release date after the Japanese PlayStation Blog touted the indie hit would release two weeks prior.
"Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscrybed upon the cards...," says the PS Store listing. While the game begins as a deck builder, it's said the cards in your hand only scratch the surface of what Inscryption is really about. Garnering a Metacritic rating of 85, there's clearly something special to it.
Will you be taking Inscryption for a spin come the end of next month? For context, it's out three days before The Last of Us: Part I and just after Saints Row and Soul Hackers 2. The next few months are finally starting to heat up for game releases. Start planning what you'll play first in the comments below.

Was on so many people's GOTY lists. Trying to go in as blind as possible. Looking forward to it.
I'm going to have to play this. I'm not so keen on any horror elements but everything else seems so interesting.
Yess! I didn't play it on pc, hoping for a ps release. I loved Pony Island so much but for obvious reasons that couldn't come to consoles.
I'm interested. Don't know anything about it except for the praise its gotten.
Since it comes out a few days before The Last of Us, I doubt I'll get it and play it at launch, but I'm definitely interested.
For all those who don't know much about it. Keep it that way! Best to go into this game blind.
GOTY last year for me!
If you can go in as blind as possible, do it!
Will definitely play this on Extra when it comes to it.
I watched the video for this as I like a good deck building game, however the video turned me off from it. It moved way to fast making it more confusing than anything. I may take another look though based on all the good reviews.
Had a bit of fun with Gwent while playing The Witcher 3 around 5 years back but apart from that, card-based games have never appealed to me. I’m interested in this one though.
Wrong site to ask this, but are there plans for a Switch version? This type of game I'd rather play handheld than on the big screen.
Excellent, I will gladly pay for it but how cool would it be if it showed on PS Extra? Can't expect that for every game like Stray though.
@Dpishere probably not on launch, but very likely in medium term, and I really don't need to buy any more gams while I'm waiting for it!
I'm currently playing Mothmen 1966 and really enjoying it for anyone interested, it's a very simple but we'll written text adventure that's well worth a punt at under £10.
