Deliver Us Mars is the follow-up to Deliver Us the Moon, and developer KeokeN Interactive has our attention, citing The Last of Us Part II as an inspiration. Today, we got a new developer diary that further explores the narrative themes of the title.
The setup for Deliver Us Mars is simple: astronaut Kathy Johnson undertakes a mission to Mars to retrieve colony ships known as ARKS, which will be vital to saving Earth, which is now ravaged by the effects of climate change.
Kathy's father, Isaac, stole the ARKS years before, abandoning both Earth and his daughter, and is now a wanted criminal. But a mysterious signal emanating from the red planet has convinced Kathy that her father is still alive and that Earth's salvation awaits on Mars.
We can see how The Last of Us Part II would be an inspiration, considering the emotional father/daughter dynamic. It remains to be seen how well KeokeN can stick the landing, but from what we have seen so far, Deliver Us Mars is on the right course. The title launches on 21 September, so we don't have long to wait.

I really enjoyed Deliver Us The Moon so I'm looking forward to this one. Hopefully it will shed more light on what became of the Outward team and playing as Kathy should be quite emotional.
Pre-ordered, I can't wait!
@ApostateMage Also really enjoyed Deliver Us the Moon. A seemingly simple tale but with some hidden depth and some unanswered questions. Looking forward to this, hoping it ties up some threads too.
A game I wouldn't have played but for the new PS+ but I enjoyed it and it had an interesting story. I'll certainly be up for playing the sequel
Just played Deliver Us the Moon for the first time last week. Awesome game that left me wanting more.
As wary as I am about the Netfixization of gaming, this is a case where the subscription business model was helpful to all parties. An underplayed gem of a game suddenly gets a broader audience, which creates more interest in the sequel.
Same as the previous comments, just finished deliver us the moon, I'm looking forward to sequel.
I wouldn't have even looked at this, until they released the PS5 version of Deliver Us The Moon on PS Plus Extra. Ended up playing it out of curiosity (since it's free on that tier), and I was pleasantly surprised. That was a very smart move to release it free for that PS Plus Tier.
