As promised, CD Projekt Red hosted a livestream focused on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this afternoon, but we didn't get any new information on the yet-to-release PS5 version of the game, officially titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition. To be clear, the developer never actually said that new details would be shared, but that didn't stop some people from watching in the hope that the upcoming port would be mentioned.
The stream itself is worthy of your attention if you're a big Witcher 3 fan, however. Campaign director Philipp Weber answered all kinds of questions about the game, covering things like quest design, cut content, and more. It was certainly an informative stream, and you can watch it yourself by clicking through here.
But yeah, the wait for Complete Edition details continues. We last heard about it back in May, when CDPR — as part of the RPG's seventh anniversary celebration — announced that the project is aiming for a Q4 2022 release date. It's not like the current-gen re-release needs a significant marketing push, but we would imagine that a date will have to be locked in fairly soon. Hopefully we won't have to wait that much longer for some confirmation.
Are you still looking forward to an enhanced version of The Witcher 3 on PS5? Make sure to keep your swords sharp in the comments section below.

So why have that stream at all, when the next-gen release is just 4-6 months away?
EDIT: Ah. It's actually a weekly reoccurrence on Twitch. CDPR is celebrating its 20th Anniversary.
I have no words...
@NielsNL It's part of CDPR's 20th anniversary thing — they're doing streams for every game. Somewhat fair to assume that we'd get something on the PS5 version, though, given the topic of the stream.
CDPR continues to bungle the most basic executions. It’s almost impressive. Yes, they didn’t say that footage would be there, but to not have ANYTHING on it, not even a few screen grabs, is so goofy.
@naruball well in that case...
Care for a round of Gwent?
Wonder if they're working on cyberpunk dlc 🤔
I'm not waiting for it, honestly.
This game won't age well mechanically.
Combat was awful even in the day. Leveling up was and still is questionable.
A good story and side quests is what carries the player through the game, however.
CDPR saw their stock valuation diminish by 70% and their view as a national treasure in their home country completely obliterated. I am honestly not surprised that they aren't showing anything. For them, the survivability of the company as a whole is contingent on them not screwing up what they release next. Not to mention the enormous amount of talent that put them where they are having now left the toxic workplace.
I suspect that considering they essentially committed a form of fraud to the public and to their investors, they are extremely cognizant of not going down the false promises route of marketing they drunkenly walked down before.
@Blacksmith1985 I was thinking the same thing. The combat alone is very subpar by today's standards. Unless that os overhauled along with the terrible UI and loot system, it's not something I'm really looking forward to.
I’m seriously starting to get the feeling it’s not hitting till early next year at best
I will be ready for it when its ready, my backlog demands it.
@Ravix haha. How could I say no to that?
So they went with my predicted worst case scenario but opted to give the middle finger even further by not even providing worthless wallpapers? Psh...
I’m guessing this game will be delayed into early 2023. Bummer since I wanted to play it a third time
