Ubisoft has announced that it will be deactivating online services for some of its older PS3 titles later in the year, so you may want to take care of any unfinished business you have before 1 September.
Thankfully, this will not be the case for remasters like Far Cry 3 or Assassins Creed 3, which will be unaffected.
The full list of titles for all platforms and subsequent changes can be found here.
For our PlayStation faithful, you may want to take a moment and see if this closure is going to prevent you from getting any Trophies in the following PS3 games somewhere down the line:
- Assassin's Creed II
- Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
- Assassin's Creed Revelations
- Driver San Francisco
- Ghost Recon Future Soldier
- Rayman Legends
- Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Do you have any unfinished Trophie business with the above games? Begin to panic with us in the comments section below.

I started Brotherhood and Revelations on PS3 just over 10 years ago... on my cousin's console.
I still need to get my hands on a PS3 so that I can get those trophies.
Had no idea these games have online features
This sucks so bad, I don't have a problem with shutting down online play but it is the DLC that I have an issue with. You purchase something and then they just delete it from their servers. That is ridiculous and I know given the size differences with modern games that it can't be due to huge files. I can't stand this. First Destiny and now Ubi.
@Master_Shake that's really weird, but seems to be a PC only problem at least.
I get that the online multiplayer for games won't last forever but apparently paid dlc for these games will no longer be accessible either & that's a s**** move like bungie with destiny
Need to get the online trophies for Splinter Cell done.
Anyone venture a guess why the PS Vita version of Rayman: Legends is not shutting down?
It's too bad but I suppose it had to happen sooner or later. Seeing this news did prompt me to reinstall AC4 just to see if people are still playing online and sure enough there are still people playing! Sure the mode choices are limited as I was only able to get Wanted and Deathmatch games but it was a pleasant surprise and I actually ended spending more than a few hours playing.
Such a fun online mode I really hope Ubisoft brings it back in some capacity some day.
@Mole17 I've been playing it ever since it came out and the community is still quite active. I'm still only getting bronze medals in challenges. Someone must be getting platinums/diamonds over and over again. I swear... Some people.
I played these Ubisoft game on PS3.
Motionsports Adrenaline
The Adventures of TinTin ~The Game~
And I will not miss anything since I played these games offline.
Can't say I'm overly concerned about this, personally I think having online/multiplayer on a Creed game is a stupid idea, when the games were original released everyone was sticking an on line mode on everything, they shut it down on The Last of Us and Uncharted 2 and 3 in 2019.
Single player games realy don't need a MP mode.
@Would_you_kindly that is crappy but isn't there remaster of these games also? Why would they disable the dlc idk 🤷♀️🤷♀️
The remasters of AC3 and FC3 were campaign only, weren't they?
It makes sense to keep AC3 and AC4 active as some people I know still play those, particularly Wolfpack on AC3.
@Would_you_kindly
Is everything but Da Vinci Disappearance on Brotherhood MP based though? Similar with Revelations, there was only one SP expansion.
Dang, I remember you could find a match for years in Brotherhood. Might boot it up on a weekend and see if I can find a match. Such better and more creative MP than so many games even now. That was how you add MP to a SP franchise.
I hope they patch (and delete) online trophies, so I instantly get platinum for all Assassins.
@djlard not happening. Sony doesn't allow patches to PS3 games anymore.
Maybe Ubi is doing this to make them self look more lean to a potential takeover or merger ?
@Grimwood This also affects the pc versions which are the definitive versions.
So you're screwed if you wanted to co-op in splinter cell then. Great.....
@SolaceCreed not really sure I know assassin's creed 3 had a dlc where George Washington decided to be the king of America & used an apple of Eden from the website it looks like it's just pc that the dlc will no longer be accessible on maybe because of the servers it's stored on or something 🤷♂️
Terrible news for anyone wanting to platinum some of these games, they require doing multiplayer for trophies.
@Milktastrophe Hmmm. bad... too bad... Anyway, there shouldn't be multiplayer trophies in singleplayer games, and if, than they should be separate (and deletable)
