Update: PS Plus owners of What Remains of Edith Finch are currently unable to upgrade to the PS5 version for free. The PS4 version was included with Sony’s subscription in May 2019, but only those who have actually purchased the game can upgrade to the new-gen re-release. While it may be easy to blame the Japanese giant here, there have been occasions where games claimed through the service have been able to upgrade, so unfortunately this does appear to be a publisher decision.

Original Story: An open secret lately has been What Remains of Edith Finch being brought to PS5 with a native port. Earlier this month, the new version received an age rating, and more recently, a PS Store page practically confirmed things for us. Now, publisher Annapurna Interactive has confirmed it's real.

Better yet, the PS5 version of the game is available right now — got to love a shadow drop every now and then. You can catch a glimpse of it in the above trailer. All we really know about the port itself is that it runs at 4K resolution and 60 frames-per-second, so it should look great on a big telly. Furthermore, those who already own the game on PS4 are entitled to the PS5 version for free.

If you've yet to play What Remains of Edith Finch, it comes highly recommended. It's a first-person narrative adventure set inside a crazy, complex house, telling the stories of the Finch family's unlucky fates. It's incredibly inventive and well worth your time.
