The incredibly promising PS5 action-adventure game A Plague Tale: Requiem has gone gold ahead of its 18th October 2022 release date. This means work on the base 1.0 version is complete, allowing Asobo Studio to turn its attention to the day one patch for further polishing. "We can't wait for you to see what adventures await Amicia and Hugo," the team said on Twitter.
The announcement closely follows a gameplay deep dive uploaded yesterday, which featured more than five minutes of new scenes, mechanics, and features you can look forward to in the sequel.
As the follow-up to A Plague Tale: Innocence, it's hoped the game will build upon what was a very strong foundation. In our A Plague Tale: Innocence PS5 review, we called it a "great game" made "that little bit better" on Sony's modern console. If you haven't played the original, it's worth noting it was given away on PS Plus last year. We recommend making time for it.

Plague tale innocence was a great game plays very similar to the last of us and im very much looking forward to Requiem
First was a pleasant surprise, really enjoyed it. Especially as I have it free from plus and epic. Second looks great too, if not a little more action oriented.
I’m contemplating on buying this on launch day. I’m really excited for the sequel but it comes out 22 days before GOW Ragnorak. I’m sure that’s enough time for me to complete the game by then or should I wait after I beat Ragnorak? Hmmm…
Heck yeah! Very excited to play this. I've actually been replaying the original a little at a time for like a month or so getting ready for Requiem. Awesome game!
I'm just happy Asobo didn't flinch after some middling reviews Innocence got and stuck with this IP. Very much liked Innocence and will be playing Requiem day one courtesy of GPU.
Loved the first one. Really looking forward to playing this.
I better hurry up and finish innocence!
Where are interesting news in this item? And why is it „incredibly promising“? I find texts without superlatives quite refreshing.
Hoping the gameplay is a little more diverse this time around. First was far from bad but despite really liking the setting, the premise, and the light horror aspect, I was disappointed to get near to the end and still basically just be avoiding/herding rats. I ended up not finishing it but I could see a sequel being a lot less of a one trick pony. Plus the art looks quite a bit better. We'll see.
Also really enjoyed the first game so very much looking forward to this
For those with game pass you can now pre Install via the game pass app ready for day one
@Microbius same here I was a late comer to the first but once I played it they had me
The first was a GOTY for me,so very excited for the sequel which I'll either buy Day One or wait till my birthday in November.
I loved the first one, so I cannot wait for "The Rats of Us Part II: Ratapalooza". Saw the trailer for the gameplay yesterday and it looks like quite the improvement over the first one.
Are the London Boys in it ??
Man I wish it was releasing around the middle of Sept since that month has nothing else.
God of War Ragnarok & A Plague Tale: Requiem are my two most hyped games for the remainder of 2022. The first A Plague Tale was the hidden gem of 2019 for me, and it ended up being my Game of the Year, sadly so many people overlooked this masterpiece, and it baffles me how few people I see talking about it or singing this game's praises, when it well and truly deserves every bit of praise it gets and MORE.
Cool.this game will be amazing just like the first one.word up son
I'll be buying this game day one, assuming I have the spare money!
Oh yeah. Waiting impatiently
I like this studio, they didn’t announce the exact release date until they were quite sure. And now they went gold two months ahead of the release. Kudos to them!
