French publisher Microids has just announced Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharaoh, a new game based on the classic Belgian comic character of the same name, and it's coming to PS5 and PS4 in 2023.
Based on the fourth volume of The Adventures of Tintin comics, Cigars of the Pharoah, this new adventure will see Tintin (and Snowy, of course) on the trail of an international narcotics trafficking ring, on a journey that will take them from Egypt to India and Arabia.
While we only got a brief teaser, it's exciting to see the duo's return in another classic adventure-style game, which has been in the works for several years now. The Adventures of Tintin comics have now sold more than 275 million units cumulatively, making it one of the most successful series of all time. So there is certainly demand for a video game!

I wonder if it’s a point and click game (similar to The Raven)?
Blistering Barnacles indeed!
This sounds pretty good. Enjoy a good investigation game.
Nice, Tintin’s visual style should suit well for games as well, and Pendulo has a decent CV.
But damn I hate the name Snowy for Milou. Such a poor translation. I know it’s what he’s always been called in the English version, but still, yuck.
Alas,no Captain Haddock or Professor Calculus etc.,then! Tintin games have been few & far between...a rather average 8bit/16bit home computer game & a far better looking but super hard Snes/MD adaptions that were PAL/EU only from what I'd seen on YouTube.
Guess time will tell how this turns out.🤔
I'm a big fan of tin tin ❤️ back in the day so I'll definitely keep an eye on this one, did chuckle at the blistering barnacles tho lol
Heck yeah I’ll be there day one
I hope it turns out good. Maybe it can drum up enough interest for Spielberg to do another film, I thought it was a lot of fun.
@BearsEatBeets
Considering most American's including myself had never even heard of this series prior to the movie it's no surprise it flopped over here and I don't think as a result Spielberg is gonna be doing another one.
I had seen the series when it was on HBO.
@BearsEatBeets I enjoyed the Spielberg movie even though I wasn’t familiar with Tintin really. I still have the sealed PS3 game (Secret of the Unicorn) on my shelf. I’ll get around to playing it eventually.
I've enjoyed tintin since i fitst read the co.ics as a small child. I also completed the zx spectrum tintin game "explorers on the moon" back when games came on cassette tape. Also enjoyed the ps3 one secret of the unicorn, even if the flying sections were frustrating
I'm not very familiar with the comics but i enjoyed the CGI movie a lot, besides I'm a sucker for everything action adventure related.. I'll keep an eye on this one!
I love Tintin. Used to borrow about 5 books at a time from the local library and get lost in his adventures. Good times.
Big fan. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
What I’ve played of the PS3 game is actually rather decent for a movie tie-in.
I'll have to check out the gameplay, but definitely remember enjoying the movie they made awhile ago.
