We've been intrigued by Bramble: The Mountain King ever since it was first revealed, and while we still don't have a firm release date, the grim take on classic fairy tales is coming to PS4 sometime in 2023.
In Bramble, you play as a young boy named Olle, looking for his lost sister in a world inspired by Nordic myth, populated with bizarre creatures like Nacken, and the Skogsra, and more familiar ones, like trolls and gnomes.
The environments in the game immediately stand out, due to their high quality, and the low-down, small-scale perspective of its presentation. We can also look forward to cinematic "David vs Goliath" boss fights, although we can't imagine combat is a focus here.

I’m on board with everything about this game, I can’t wait for it.
I need to see some gameplay. Looks intriguing, but it's not enough.
Looks stunning.
@naruball I’m pretty sure that whole trailer was gameplay.
@GeneticMutation rapid jumps from scene to scene and camera cuts, and different camera angles to what gameplay would actually look like.
This game looks like it's right up my street! That looks epic.
If you go into the woods today... you better take a shotgun along.
Juuust in case you happen to pass by a cabin and you hear the words "What great big ears you have, Grandma!"
Joking aside, I didn't know about this game until now. And it looks very good too... already added it to the list of titles to look forward to next year.
This looks like a must-buy for me. the graphic style is seems perfect for the story. It looks like the developers have blended the perfect selection of music, environment and art style for the story.
Nice art style. Will need to see more gameplay, but like what I see.
When they say coming to PS4 I'm assuming it's also playable on the PS5?
@naruball Same thoughts here, I've barely seen any real gameplay so far...unless the game seriously lacks a HUD?
@GreatAuk Correct. PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4 games.
@GeneticMutation the whole trailer? Alright. If you say so.
