The release date for Genshin Impact's next major content expansion, 3.0, has been revealed. The flamboyantly titled "The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings" update will go live next week on 24th August, for PS5 and PS4, and we got a lengthy trailer to celebrate.
The big ticket item here is the addition of the Sumeru region, one of the seven regions that make up Genshin Impact's world of Teyvat, a geographically interesting blend of rainforest and desert. A new swathe of main story quests will be available, moving the central narrative of the game forward, including a bunch of new characters, gear, and the new Dendro element to keep players occupied.
We also got the news that subsequent content additions will be released every five weeks, as opposed to the usual six. It seems like the Shanghai-based developer miHoYo is trying to make up for lost time, as COVID-related lockdowns have delayed patches previously.
Are you looking forward to Genshin Impact Version 3.0? Have you been keeping up to date with the content? Let us know in the comments section below.

Friend of mine really want's me to play this one but I got shafted hard on the gacha xd
Might jump back in to see if my luck improved a bit, which I doubt.
Currently playing Tower of fantasy so here's hoping I get better results there.
Here’s hoping this update lets you start a new game without having to create another user account 🙄
@Nightcrawler71 That is never going to happen. Ever. Unfortunately.
This game looks cool, is it possible to play it (casually) without pumping loads of money into it?
@jcvandan Yeah, you won't get the best characters or weapons unless you get lucky on the free pulls but the game gives you enough to do everything without spending.
@jcvandan Yep, nearly every character is viable in the over world. You'll only really struggle in the monthly hardcore dungeon which is completely optional. I'm 100% f2p and have defeated everything the game has to offer so far. It's a great game that's only gotten better since launch.
I might play it when if possible to "beat" it. Otherwise I'm not really interested.
So excited, all the new content looks great!
@Constable_What then they won’t get me back as a player. I played it for a while a few years ago…have now forgotten most of what I learnt (story, controls etc). I’m not gonna create another user account just for this game. I don’t see why they can’t just let you delete your current game then start afresh.
To be honest I was hoping this update wouldn't come for quite some time. Thanks to new PS+, I've got so many games in the backlog now, I'd kinda rather use my time to work through those than return to a game I've already played a lot of. I probably need to just never start another live service game ever.
I really need to get back into this game. Its basically Breath if the Wild but with a story.
@Nightcrawler71 Whoa...I didn't know it won't let you restart. Thats a total deal breaker for me.
Also...nice picture! Haha. Love that show.
Got as far as the Childe boss fight and its pretty impossible to me, really really would like to play the rest of the game, would even pay to get past it, but no option
@Nightcrawler71 You can delete your save, but it's a whole thing. You have to email Hoyoverse's customer support and they will delete your account, letting you start over. I've done it on mobile so that I could link up my PlayStation and mobile accounts.
Forewarning: it takes weeks to do, so if you want to get into the game, but really just want a new "save" you could start that process.
I think the main reason they do it this way is so you don't accidentally delete your own save, or if you get hacked your account is a little safer, because a lot of people spend money on this game, and if your account is deleted from the server, that's it, no getting it back.
@djhegzy You should try lowering your World Level so that the fight is easier, or leveling up some artifacts, or even making a lot of food.
The best strategy against him is use either a Pyro or Cryo characters to trigger Vaporize, Freeze, Overload, and Super-Conduct reactions, and just put on the pressure.
@djhegzy I did the Childe fight back when you couldn't lower world level and I had only leveled the traveller. How I got passed it was by eating a lot of those sweet madame chicken dishes to heal. So just know the fight is possible without playing the game properly to level a competent team.
I'll get back to this game eventually, assuming the servers aren't shut down by then haha...
@AgentMantis I installed it last night and played a couple of hours. Too early to give a full opinion but seems like a nice game so far, time will tell if the gacha stuff annoys me too much even though I won’t be doing any of it.
@jcvandan the gacha is pretty generous tbf. Every 70 pulls on a banner takes you to the soft pity cap, every 90 guarantees a 50/50 pull on the banners 5* character. If you lose the 50/50 you get another 5* character and your next 5* is guaranteed to be the banners character. The pity count continues between premium banners as well, so you don't start over each time. The next banner has Zhongli, the best shielder in the game and definitely worth having a crack at. Uid: 701713997 if you want to add me.
@Constable_What @Constable_What not sure the game is worth all that hassle, but thanks for the info anyway 👍
