A new trailer for the PS5 remake of Gothic was revealed during the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase today, giving us our first glimpse of the game since its announcement in early 2020. This latest look doesn't pull back the curtain too much, but it does send out invites to take a look at the Old Mine in all its current-gen glory. We get an uninterrupted look at the location as the camera passes by caves, miners, and the horrors that lurk within.
There's no release date attached to the project yet, suggesting it's still probably a ways off for now. Alkimia Interactive is the team behind the remake, which is a brand new studio based in Barcelona. A press release describes Gothic as the "most iconic German RPG ever", so hopefully the weight of expectation doesn't hinder the studio.

With no knowledge of the original i can only assume the game is about a mine with spiders XD im guessing theres a bit more to it than that
@Danloaded I've got the trilogy on Steam but never played them. I think they're made by the same dev that made the Risen trilogy, so if you've ever played those games they might be a bit similar. They feel like old school third person RPGs if that's your thing
Whoa, this looks awesome. I never even heard of the original. But looking at some old gameplay, this could be a really Badass remake
Now if they only remake Koudelka man i loved that game.
The original Gothic is great, but it's old, clunky, and from an era when developers were still trying to perfect controls in 3D (especially on PC). This is looking great and it will be nice to have this classic modernized and brought to a new audience.
@Danloaded Same here lol. It won't be a full price/day 1 purchase or pre-order, but I'll def check it out a year or two after whenever it releases.
