Let’s be honest: MultiVersus has completely and utterly eaten Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl’s lunch. But publisher GameMill Entertainment had DLC plans for this platform fighter, and it’s not about to put them on ice. Thus, amid all the EVO 2022 excitement, Jimmy Neutron’s father Hugh Neutron has joined the release’s roster. You can purchase him a la carte, or get him as part of the title’s Season Pass.
“Fully voiced by the one-and-only Mark DeCarlo, the loveable duck collector brings an exciting fighting style, along with an all-new stage and bonus alternate costume,” the press release reads. You can check out the character’s moves and abilities courtesy of the video embedded above.

I feel bad for this game as I genuinely liked it too but yeah MultiVersus came in like freight train and destroyed any hype surrounding it. I like it but I like MultiVersus better. Still pretty cool to see it getting support though.
Honestly, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was unfortunately subpar from the get-go. It’s no wonder Multiversus smashed it. It felt like it should’ve been F2P.
I think a certain other platform brawler has just recently killed this, no?
I haven't played either but it seemed like the response to Nick was muted to begin with, mostly due to a lack of polish and content. They didn't hit a home run at launch and now are playing in a much more competitive field.
It sucks for them because it seems like a decent platform fighter, but there might not be the space for it, Smash, Multi, Brawlhalla, etc.
Yeah, the lack of the iconic voices/music from the get go definitely hurt the game a lot (a lack of budget, as I'm sure the people funding it just saw it as another cash grab licensed game), plus the fact you had to pay to play the game. Multiversus overshadowing the game didn't help any, especially since it is free to play. We will definitely see more smaller fighting games go free to play, most likely (League of Legends one announced they are).
Cross play yet?
Ye, just like everybody says - between this and MultiVersus, which are very similar games on many levels, there's not much going in NickBrawl's favor unfortunately. Feelsbadman.
They shouldn't have released it till they had the voiceovers secured, playing with a bunch of mutes gave everyone an initial bad impression.
First impressions are everything and this game's was of it being really cheap, I do wish the developers success for whatever they do next as I think they did their best here
I love how everybody is just overpraising Multiversus just because it's free. I tried it myself and I don't like it and failed to see how that game is better than this. Not disrespecting people who enjoyed it, but they need to admit the game's flaws and stop pretending it's the most perfect Smash-like game in the world like every single video game in the world. Yes, I am looking at you Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Final Fantasy VII, Super Mario Bros. 3, Mega Man 2, Smash Bros. Melee, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, Mega Man X, SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom and Zelda: OoT.
@streetzman Besides, nothing will replace Smash Ultimate. But both this and Multiversus are unique in there own rights.
Hahaha.cool.word up son
@streetzman Multiversus will get a lot of praise for being free to play by virtue of its relative large amount of unlockable content and relative strength of its gameplay, as well as the fact that the game will need to continuously add content to its roster to generate income and rationalize the original investment WB made into the game. It is unique to Smash, as well, in terms of gameplay, where it actually feels novel to play, whereas most Smash imitators are basically “Smash but not as good.” That said, Multiversus for me is 7, maybe 7.5 out of 10 title as it currently is. It’s bare bones and designed essentially for the F2P crowd that stick to multiplayer only. However, there is room for the title to grow. Meanwhile, Smash Ultimate is arguably a 10/10 for genre lovers (and a 9/10 for me, personally, given that I’m more of a casual for the genre) and I’d pegged Nicktoons as a 5/10 at launch for its generic combat and overall lack of polish. I mean, seriously, what were they thinking releasing the game without voice acting? Sure, they’ve improved the roster and added voice acting, but it still lacks any tightness or unique flourishes to the game play. I’ll give Multiversus credit for making a brawler that is competitive without a lot of bells and whistles where extras are concerned (ie weapons, objects, flashy special moves, etc), but tight in the basics and inherently different in movement and combat. I can see Multiversus growing over the next couple years into a sustainable property and unfortunately I have a feeling it’s already too late for Nicktoons and won’t even be featured at places like EVO in maybe 1-2 years unless something dramatic occurs. Perhaps if Nicktoons drops to F2P, that may be the first step… But seriously a Founders Pack for Multiversus is a better value than Nicktoons at retail cost.
@streetzman It's being praise because it's the best and most polished Smash like game to date! WB (and Disney) is one of the few that can pull off having a (possibly) bigger and more diverse roster than smash.
Also the online of Multiversus is beyond that of Smash and it's terrible Netcode, I personally don't care about online and competitive but Multiversus is clearly better in that department.
I personally like the roster of Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl much more. But there's no way around the fact that Multiverse is smashing it. They had voiced characters from the get-go plus its a F2P game which a lot of the MP gaming community nowadays expect.
Very unfortunate to see Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl hasn't seen any heights.
Why does Hugh Neutron look like a member of the Tetley Tea Folk? (img) https://marketingweek.imgix.net/content/uploads/2012/05/tetley304.jpg (/img)
I’m waiting for Crossplay before I start taking this game seriously again, but NASB is so fun. It’s the platform fighter kusoge and it couldn’t be more wild. Easily more fun and enjoyable than Multiversus
@Pikki Jimmy would be nice, also want to see Fairly OddParents characters.
Though they'd have to re-use old voice clips for Timmy or re-cast his voice actor.
