The asymmetrical multiplayer boom has reached its peak with Killer Klowns from Outer Space – The Game! That’s right, the cult 1988 B-movie is being transformed into a 7vs3 competitive online experience, where you’ll need to team-up with pals as either Killer Klowns or hapless humans. We love how out of left-field this is!
“When murderous alien Klowns come to feed on the quiet town of Crescent Cove, the locals must work together to fight back and survive the invasion,” the press release reveals. “Players can team up as either Klowns or humans, choosing from a variety of character classes, to explore an expansive ever-changing map with creepy surprises waiting around every corner.”
The game’s being developed by Teravision Games, with some of the talent from Friday the 13th involved. While it’s not due out until 2023, the developer’s already planning ahead, with live service hooks promising “multiple content updates” post-release. It’s coming to the PS5 and PS4, with additional information underwraps for now.

WTF?!
That's almost tempting enough for me to actually play an online game... Not quite, but almost.
I would love a Pennywise horror game. That’s what this made me think of.
"asymmetrical multiplayer" Well that's disappointing ☹️ why can't once one of these games based off a horror movie be single player? (the answer of course is these type of games can be made for cheap) nice trailer though!
People are just coming up with game ideas by throwing a dart a wall full of IPs at this point.
@CWill97 these guys were scarier than even Tim Curry in drag. I’m sure we’ve got some coulrophobics around here; fear of clowns that’s why nobody really quotes me
@Enuo It does feel that way sometimes!
@Dudditz09 well you’re online on the internet and use the internet everyday so that’s good enough . you can’t run from it either way 😂
Ugh this trend has grown old. The industry is such a one trick pony sometimes. The amount of copy and paste Friday the 13th games since it launched is nauseating. This game would have been a cool solo horror experience, but we get more of this same crap.
@Juanalf Yeah, it kills me that there are new Evil Dead, Ghostbusters and now freaking Killer Klowns games, and they're all multiplayer.
Well this was...unexpected.
I have this movie on DVD. Classic!
Nathan Drake's nightmare has come true!!
Lol i remember this movie...lets have a C.H.U.D. game or neon maniacs next...oooh how about a critters game or the ghoulies..
If they ever drop this on PS+ Essentials or Extra/Premium I'd try it out, but will never buy the game.
Like I said the other day more multi player crap to be shown at Gamescom. Face it single player games are becoming.less and less. The industry sucks, so one sided what happened to choice.
Bizarrely I'm now listening to a podcast about the film so this is quite the odd coincidence.
