Fans of medieval murder simulators like Chivalry 2, rejoice! The immensely popular Mordhau is making the jump from PC to console, and while we don't yet have a firm release date, it's coming soon to PS5 and PS4.
Featuring hectic, large-scale battles with a primary focus on melee combat, Mordhau was released back in 2019, and remains popular on Steam today. Perhaps the biggest differential between Mordhau and the Chivalry franchise is that the former strives for a more grounded and realistic tone... although whether it is successful in that regard is debatable.
Fun fact: the title Mordhau refers to a German longsword technique from the Middle Ages. It means "murder-stroke" or "murder-strike", and involves inverting the blade (grasping it in gauntleted hands) and striking your opponent with the pommel or crossguard, using the weapon in the fashion of a hammer or mace.
What do you think of Mordhau? Are you still playing Chivalry 2? Let us know in the comments section below.

Too late. The game snot really supported anymore and don’t even try to make it crossplay with PC. One, it takes 100 hours to be make a dent in the match from what I hear and 2, the game is about breaking animations on PC with by contorting the mouse. I don’t see this having an audience to support or not being a terrible experience for a few reasons by being crossplay with PC.
And for being realisitc it fails. It’s a Ballarina fest with weird costumes from what I’ve read. Chiv 2 delivers a much more realistic looking experience.
I love Chiv 2, and looked at this game multiple times on PC before it came out
, but for reasons above, I could never want to get no matter how much I love medical times and combat.
Scuffed Kingdom come deliverance
I think I would prefer chivalry 2
Chivalry 2 is a blast on ps5 and still has plenty of people playing it now, not to mention constant updates. Mordhau will have it's work cut out to top it.
