MultiVersus has been in its open beta phase for a good while now, and developer Player First Games promised Season 1 would be coming soon. After a delay, fans now have a release date to look forward to, and it's very close indeed.
The first major seasonal update will arrive on 15th August 2022, which is in just a few days:
As well as confirming the date for the start of Season 1, the studio has also given us a date for the next playable character, Morty. Initially planned to release at the very start of the season, he will now launch just over a week later, on 23rd August.
Morty isn't the only new addition to the game in Season 1 — a preview of what's to come includes a classic arcade mode, ranked matches, and lots of new cosmetics to unlock. There's plenty to get excited about, then, but how are you feeling about MultiVersus? Will you be hopping in to see all the fresh stuff? Tell us in the comments section below.

After completing the season 0 battlepass I realized how much I need it to actually stay engaged! Haven't played 1 match since I completed it! It's not that I don't love the game, there's just too many games to play
@AFCC I'm mainly just gradually building up my gold so I can afford the rest of the characters. Still got a long way to go though lol.
Nice! I just finished the preseason battle pass not too long ago too so perfect timing. I wonder if some new stages will be introduced throughout the season. Like a Metropolis stage or a Looney Tunes stage. Can't wait!
I suppose I'll make a WB account one of these days... dammit...
@AFCC Same!
Does anyone know if any additional Battle Pass XP carries over? Because I have finished it, plus I have maybe 1000XP
Awesome news!
Haven't touched the game since getting max lvl on the bp.
Tip for newer players:
Level up all the characters you have available since each level gives 100 and sometimes 200 gold!
It racks up quick and you're able to afford more characters.
