Capcom has detailed what to expect from its TGS 2022 Online Program showcase, and Resident Evil 4 is nowhere to be seen. It was presumed the Japanese expo would play host to the latest footage and information from the PS5 remake, but Capcom hasn't included the game in its lineup. Instead, there's the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, Street Fighter 6, Exoprimal, and Mega Man Battle Legacy Collection.
Of course, the Japanese publisher could simply make it a surprise inclusion, but it's no longer something that should be expected in next month's event, taking place on 15th September 2022. The Gold Edition of Ethan Winters' latest escapade — which includes the Shadows of Rose DLC, a third-person mode for the base game, and more Mercenaries content — will have further information to share.
Then, Street Fighter 6 will debut a new trailer and updates concerning "characters featured in the game, as well as the new World Tour and Battle Hub modes". Exoprimal will debut new characters, dinosaurs, and Exosuits, and the latest Mega Man collection will present a look at some of its additional features.
Capcom has also confirmed the PSVR2 version of Resident Evil Village will be playable on the show floor, giving the public its very first chance to go hands on with the next-gen headset. When do you expect to hear from Resident Evil 4 next? As a reminder, it's out for PS5 on 24th March 2023.

Ahh that’s a shame, was looking forward to seeing some gameplay. Still, lots to look forward to.
I have a feeling it’s reserved for Sony to show it off a bit more.
Going to be at the PlayStation showcase. Sony announced the price increases today to get the bad news out of the way and next week either the showcase or announcement of the showcase for the following week.
There's also the matter of psvr2 content for RE4 remake which Sony advertised in the state of play but has since disappeared completely with neither Sony or capcom mentioning it?(I feel it was advertised a little to early upsetting meta which had just paid for the original RE4 in vr)
Code Veronica needed the Remake treatment well before RE4 did.
@Americansamurai1 This is my thinking too. They got some hype going with the new controller the other day, then announced the price increase.
Next it will be either a showcase or big acquisition news to generate some buzz.
Definitely will be shown at an impending Sony showcase - which i expect to be announced imminently. There was a rumour about one being held on 8 September which sounds possible - particularly with the recent update on PSVR2 coming in early 2023 - and Sony need a big PR win by actually announcing some games for people to get hyped about. Expect they just want to avoid overshadowing the LOU pt 1 release next week
@Shepherd_Tallon I could see them announcing that they've acquired square soon.
@Uncharted2007 agreed , I'll take a remake of 4 because I love resident resident evil but would've liked code Veronica first seen as it takes place before 4
@Shepherd_Tallon announcing a price increase & then right after announcing that they've spent a tonne of money on an acquisition would be so dumb
@Americansamurai1 If you had said that to me six months ago I'd have said it's not going to happen.
Now I think it's inevitable. Maybe not a full buyout, but something is definitely on the cards with PlayStation and Square.
@Shepherd_Tallon yeah crazy times we're living in. I do think that if Sony buys them they will be like Bungie and still release most games on multiple platforms. Some games like ff16 will stay exclusive.
@Americansamurai1 Yeah exactly that. Been expecting the same thing - Business as usual for every franchise, but the main FF games will be console exclusive to PlayStation.
Just because capcom didn't mentioned RE4 don't mean we won't get any updates at TSG. first event is gonna be updates on announce titles while the 2nd event will focus on SF6.
and also Why in the hell Monster Hunter rise Sunbreak is still in the spotlight ? like it had it own showcase early this year and released this past june like it done and over with. heck pragmata should've had that spot at the capcom showcase back in june. and updates and new trailer for SF6 on the 15th & it got gonna have it own event the next day ? give that spot to pragmata . and so being RE8 G.E is getting updates the gotta mentioned RE4. come on capcom .
I'll be looking forward to more coverage on Street Fighter 6 and Mega Man Battle Legacy Collection.
