Saints Row is fast approaching its 23rd August release date, which can only mean one thing: trailers. This latest video provides a chunky look at gameplay, and goes over just about everything that you need to know with regards to the title's over-the-top sandbox.
The main takeaway here is that this is still Saints Row in terms of structure. A third person shooter at its core, but it's not afraid to push crazy close quarters combat, absurd side activities, and some cool looking traversal mechanics. All in all, it looks like great fun to actually play.

Looking forward to it, but really not liking the cringey dialogue I've heard so far in previews (which I'm trying to avoid as much as possible) It's possibly the worst I've heard in any game ever though!
But hopefully I still enjoy it. I was completely ready to go along with the hipster vibe, but I'm having nagging doubts and I'm scared I'll still want to stove my head in playing it 😁😁😁
Ended up pre-ordering it against my better judgement, been playing Saints Row The Third as its on Plus so it put me in a SR hype mood and i caved haha
Looking good, looks like there will be some fun weapons again. Still not convinced on the new saints themselves. The trailer hasnt done much to convince me the villains will be much better, was hoping for more than 3 factions. Especially when they look similar to SR3s.
Looking good, bought it already.
I'm looking forward to the customization options this one has the most.
Wasn't going to buy it at launch but in Canada it's 20$ cheaper on disc at Bestbuy than digital so I went for it
Preordered and waiting release. I am trying to avoid any spoilery footage the past few weeks. But I am pumped.
Yes, I'll be buying this daft nonsense on release.
I was really on the fence at first with this, but it grew on me. Probably not day 1, but I will get eventually.
The map looks cool and I like blowing up stuff. I need to see some videos of real game play.
@WallyWest I think the PS4 version is a mess was really buggy for me I bought the full package on switch though & it seems to run alot better for some reason
Characters are awful, and even the custom character creator is inferior to previous releases. Will likely wait for it to come to plus before trying it.
@Would_you_kindly Playing the PS5 version and its not perfect either, framerate is not stable and its pretty buggy though nothing gamebraking. Visually it looks pretty great though, its night and day difference next to the PS3 original.
@NoCode23 Skill Up has a big gameplay preview video complete with a ton of gameplay. While he was lukewarm on what he played i actually liked what i saw and thought it looked like a ton of fun.
@shonenjump86 Thats my opinion as well. Not day 1 but will get it.,
@WallyWest yeah the open world does look really good
Volition has been struggling lately. I'd hold off on a preorder. Best to see how this one turns out so you don't get burned.
I mean this looks fine like the Saints Row 2 classic...but that's it, this seems straight from 2009 or something! There is nothing new and exciting here...seems like SR2 all over again
I'm still interested in playing Saints Row 2022, but will wait until the game is $20, or include with PS+ in some form.
