Square Enix has released another lengthy Star Ocean: The Divine Force trailer, this time covering a range of topics such as overarching story, newly revealed characters, and some key combat details. The action RPG continues to look fairly promising — despite the dodgy character faces — and developer tri-Ace will be hoping that it puts the long running series back on the map.
Anyway, it won't be long until we all get to experience The Divine Force for ourselves. The title's still on track for its 27th October release date, and we're sure that Square Enix will be deploying a few more trailers between now and then. Some uncut gameplay footage would be ideal, we reckon.

Do we know if it would be like Second Story where parts of the story changes depending on the character you choose?
Also linked to that question, would party members be locked out depending on choice?
@SplooshDmg
I too enjoy the Star Ocean jank. There is nothing wrong with a janky game.
I'm looking forward to this, as long as they learned from SO5 of course
Only thing i dont like about these games is that you usually spend the majority of them on a backwards planet with no technology. Always annoyed mean since you...have a spaceship
I've always loved the Star Ocean games. This looks like maybe its an open world RPG, in a similar vein to Xenoblade Chronicles? Not the standard combat of older Star Ocean games, for sure, but I am very much ready to give a new one a go!
Im a Fan of the Star Ocean Series. I really hope this Succeeds so Future games will be made
@SplooshDmg I haven't gotten to IAF yet, should I be concerned 😐
I recently forced myself through star ocean 5 and just...wow. It was the most generic and boring JRPG I've played in a long time. The characters were completely uninteresting and the story was pointless and filled with holes that I just couldn't set aside. One character just straight up disappears and you never see them again, almost like they forgot about him halfway through. Just about the only good thing to the game was Captain Kenny and the space combat scenes...even if they were mostly just described and not actually shown.
