We all know it's coming, but we weren't sure if Tekken 8 would finally be announced at Evo 2022. As it turns out, we think that the long rumoured title has been officially teased. After the Tekken 7 Grand Finals, Bandai Namco unveiled a balance update trailer, that ends with Kazuya's original Tekken ending, in which he drops his father, Heihachi, off a cliff.
And then it cuts to a much, much, much better Kazuya model, and text that reads "Get Ready" appears. Tekken 8, baby!
What's more, it would seem as thought Tekken 8 could be fully revealed at The Game Awards 2022. The event's official Twitter account posted this the second that the Tekken trailer ended:
By the way, the aforementioned Tekken 7 update drops on the 17th August, and will feature new character balancing. Not bad for a game that's over seven years old (since its arcade release).

Please don't be years away.
And people gave SF6 trouble their short tease.🤣
Looking forward to seeing more though.
@Korgon Hey, at least they didn't do a weird close-up on Kazuya's feet!
Atlus, your days are over. A new king of nothing teasers has arrived.
Half-Life 8 confirmed
@ShogunRok but we did get two character reveals and a logo...a bad logo but a logo nonetheless.
As much as I love the Tekken series I thought 7 ended the series perfectly.
@ShogunRok I won’t be surprised if it is years away, but it’s nice to hear that a new game is in the works at least.
Terrific! Hope we get to see more at gamescom!
Hope it's a full game with all the fighters in it & not have like 10 season passes
Really interested to see what the new Tekken has in store.
Feels like 7 has been out forever.
@Deadlyblack I was just thinking about it yesterday and there hasn't really been any new 3D fighter in years, unless I'm totally forgetting something (a remaster of a PS3 Virtua Fighter doesn't count). It's actually kinda weird.
Underwhelming teaser but oh well. About time TK8 is confirmed.
Can't wait to see that UE5 look on the fighters.
@Would_you_kindly I second this, unfortunately we will probably have to wait a few years after it releases for maybe a $120 ultimate edition 😑
Glad were getting a new Tekken though! Tekken 7 still plays great although it looks like complete ass, graphics definitely didn't age gracefully.
Tekken remake?
@nookie_egg I'd rather have a Tekken remake over 8 personally, would be a great point for a newcomer like me to jump into.
I would like a arcade mode in the game its a sad day that this is something thats not in a fighter.
@Juanalf yeah I bought tekken 7 rematch edition assuming it had all the content but it didn't lol & I don't think the graphics are bad I think it even looks good in vr
I'll be honest, I won't be buying Tekken 8.
Firstly, the amount of be DLC packs for Tekken 7 left a sour taste in my mouth. It was all stuff you used up play to unlock (Bowling, extra characters, modes, etc).
Secondly, despite all those DLC packs, the game still runs at 30FPS on PS5 and they've done absolutely nothing with it in the 2 years since they PS5 was released. It runs slow and loads ever so slightly faster thanks to the faster IO of the SSD.
