Back when 2K Sports penned a long-term deal with Tiger Woods and bought developer HB Studios, we knew it was going to take the PGA Tour series seriously. The previous entry, PGA Tour 2K21, got a big marketing budget from the publisher – and went on to sell millions of copies. An even better sequel was inevitable, then.
And while we’ll need to wait until 22nd August, 2022 to get a full glimpse of the greens, the PGA Tour’s most decorated athlete has revealed the cover art for PGA Tour 2K23 on his Twitter account. As you’d expect, there’ll be two permutations: a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition, both featuring Woods on the front. The legend is working as an Executive Producer on the game, which is neat.
We really enjoyed PGA Tour 2K21, and you just feel that with a typical 2K Sports budget behind it, this new version could deliver some top-notch virtual golf. We’ll bring you the full reveal next week, which will hopefully include plenty of gameplay footage and an overview of what kind of features and content we can expect.

Ohhh tempted to get this, i really enjoyed 21
Tempted to get this just because tiger is on cover. And hope some improvements were made.
Hopefully this one will tidy up some of the loose ends from the previous one. I did enjoy the gameplay but the menus, character models and general aesthetic were all very early ps4 and had a whiff of double A title about them.
Very excited to see how this shapes up actually. I enjoyed 21 when it came to PS+ so I'm much more interested knowing now it has a full budget and backing from the man himself on it!
2K21 was really quite good even if it was a bit rough around the edges. Definitely looking forward to seeing the improvements they’ve made.
About time..i love my 2k21 but i need a new golf game..
@Daveuppercut Agreed. I think this will be much higher budget now 2K owns them.
yes!!!!! I loved 2k21! excited for this, love golf games.
Improved visuals and the ability to actually golf as the professionals will make this an easy purchase for me once it gets a bit cheaper.
Not had a golf game aince the one with Rory on the front. I always like the TW games, especially the Masters one. If were somewhere close then this will be a day 1
Being a pretty good golfer myself i always found 2k21 and the previous incarnations very realistic in terms of how the ball actually reacts in real life..yeah its a bit rough around the edges and the graphics on the character models are a bit early last gen but the game play cant be matched. I cant wait..
The golf club vibe was still visible when 2K got hold of it. Hoping it shifts the focus to more serious vibes now.
Actually looking forward to seeing what EA can pull off with PGA Tour aswell. Been a while since Rory's version
Definitely interested in what is revealed next week. Hoping the influence of Tiger takes it to a new level.
I do miss some of the excellent Fantasy courses from the earlier TW games like The Highlands and one version had a cool one in Australia as well. Still even though we won't get those some of the user community course creations for 2K21 are very impressive.
Hb studios games have too many bugs that very rarely get fixed from my experience of playing them.
Been waiting for the 21 edition to turn up on gamepass, surprised it never has. Guaranteed, as soon as I pick it up in a sale it will, just like NBA 2K22 did... 💩
Looking forward to this, could do with a new golf game to play with the old man.
Hopefully a bit of competition in the market with EA making a come back might push them both to release great games, although I'm not optimistic about EA given its EA and their last effort with Rory was horrendous
It's been a while since I played PGA/Tiger Woods, and I dabbled briefly with 2K21, but does anyone know if your save/progress carried over across newer games? I was a massive fan of '04-06, and that was the only thing missing from it which would have made it absolutely perfect
TLDR
Is there a career mode w/ skill tree and create a golfer?
If yes, I buy
If no, I wait till it’s free, download it, never play it, then delete when I need the space
