For as cool as this crossover undoubtedly is, it feels a little odd in 2022. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the Castlevania-inspired gothic adventure, is getting a Journey-themed crossover on 23rd August, 2022. To be clear, that’s the emotional indie game from thatgamecompany, and not the Don’t Stop Believin’ band. The latter really would be an unexpected collaboration!
A press release explains: “This new section of the castle, The Tunnels, is inspired by the imagery and level design of Journey, but with a Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night twist. Hidden behind a secret entrance, the Tunnels are large and will require exploration and shard abilities to navigate. Once you find (and fight) your way through the cavernous maze, the final challenge awaits: a battle with the level’s guardian. Your reward for survival is a special Journey-inspired equippable item!”
You’ll need to have progressed a little bit in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to access the content, and then the area will be marked on your map. The new content will be accompanied by some bug fixes and improvements, which is always welcome. And just to be clear, the update is free, so that’s nice!

Wonder when a sequel is coming really enjoyed bloodstained ritual of the night
Never mind this i want a Katamari Doom Eternal DLC crossover level.
It’s crazy that they are still supporting this game with new content. Are there really that many new purchases of this game?
I played it and loved it a couple years ago. Not sure I’d go back to it at this point though.
What an utterly random crossover, lol.
Free updates are always welcome, nice one
I wonder if @get2sammyb had something to do with this? 🤔
This is cool and all but I'd rather have a proper sequel to Bloodstained: RotN
So I guess I clearly should have waited... 3 years before playing this one. What the heck, why is a short metroidvania being treated like a live service game?
