Tokyo Game Show 2022 is just a couple of weeks away, and Bandai Namco has revealed its schedule for the event. The publisher is set to host a number of showings across three days (the 15th, 16th, and 18th September), with exhibits dedicated to the likes of various Gundam games, upcoming RPG One Piece Odyssey, Dragon Ball: The Breakers, and, interestingly, the Tales of series.
But there's one mystery showing that's sparking a lot of speculation in the gaming sphere. Bandai Namco's final time slot on the 18th September is simply titled "???" on its official website, and as you can imagine, it's got people dreaming up all kinds of potential announcements.
We've seen talk of Elden Ring DLC or even a new FromSoftware reveal, but we're not at all convinced on either front. It's important to remember that Tokyo Game Show is, well, marketed directory towards a Japanese audience. Given that something like Elden Ring has been such a global hit, we doubt that this would be the place for it to go big. What's more, Bandai Namco doesn't really have much of a say over what happens with FromSoftware's output — it's merely a publishing partner.
A more educated guess would probably involve a new anime-based project, although the fact that Gundam, Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Sword Art Online are all being represented through other exhibits leaves us questioning what could be left over. It'll be interesting to see what actually gets announced.
Do you have any hopes and dreams for this showing? Feel free to scream Riiiiiidge Racer! in the comments section below.

New digimon cyber sleuth
Riiiiiidge Racer!
Most likely elden ring dlc
Can see them getting a licence for a Jujutsu Kaisen game if that hasn't already happened. Whatever it is, I hope it's going to be a great TGS. Japanese games have had a sort of a comeback the last few years and I hope that trend remains strong.
Is it possible that, following on from their tease at Evo, this is just the full reveal of Tekken 8? Would love it to be some crazy announcement, but I'm tempering my expectations a bit
If it's naruto or bleach I'm interested otherwise I'm out of the loop with newer anime. Bleach finale is getting an adaptation so it's actually possible
Hoping for a new Tekken now that Capcom are showing more and more of Sf6
@Arisen Naruto or Bleach would be great!
@MattT3142 It's not impossible, but I would imagine that a full Tekken 8 demands a bigger stage. Something like The Game Awards seems more likely, I reckon (although I'd love to see it anywhere!).
@Arisen Naruto might be a decent shout, it's been a few years since the last big release.
Imagine if it is a Ridge Racer reboot tho, that would be insane on modern consoles. Everything will look so much more realistic in 4k 60 but they'd have to keep it the traditional arcadey drifting style it's known for like all the 90s versions. Ridge Racer type 4 is up there as one of the best arcade racers ever. Most likely won't be this but you never know. Just imagine if Ridge Racer and all PS3 Motorstorm games get PS5 versions. I'd have a gaming orgasm
It could be Tekken 8. I would love it to be Soul Calibur VII.
I hope it's not Naruto, but I would enjoy a Bleach game (though not sure what type of game it would be). I could see it being a Jujutsu Kaisen game too. That'd be interesting.
.hack pleeeease
Collab with Arcsys again you cowards, and make another great anime fighter.
One Piece FighterZ please and thank you
Jujutsu Kaisen or Fullmetal Alchemist game would be a dream come true.
@Arisen I genuinely hope the Bleach game that Kubo talked about isn't an arena fighter.
I'd like Little nightmares 3 or a new Tekken
It's gonna be a new IP called ???.
Tekken X Street Fighter
@Nepp67 Don't get my hopes up rn did he really talk about a new bleach game😳
Hunter x Hunter fighting video game
