Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, from the makers of successful indie Souls-like Ashen, is looking good in this latest video. Showing off about five minutes of gameplay, you get a good taste of combat, which combines an axe, a gun, and the magical abilities of your furry friend.
It looks like you'll deal most of your damage with the blade, complementing it with the blunderbuss. While that happens, your companion Enki will distract and do damage with its own teleporting attacks. It's not clear if those are player-commanded or not. Outside of combat, you'll use Enki to traverse the landscape too.
Overall, it looks like a more kinetic take on the Souls-like, with flashy attacks, magical leaps, and huge ground pounds making it a little less grounded. That's fine with us — what do you think of Flintlock so far? Take a swing in the comments section below.

To be honest, I am tired of Souls-likes, Remakes, Remasters, Live-service games, etc... Maybe too old for all of those.
Gimme some single-player goodies! waiting for GoW: Ragnarok
Ashen was awesome. Actually the first Souls-like that ever clicked for me. Really looking forward to this.
Soulslikes is wild
Definitely looking forward to this
Ashen is ok.but to me nioh and remnant from the ashes is the best souls like games ever made.this looks cool.word up son
Looks pretty good to me. Ashen had great level design and fun combat, and this looks like it follows suit.
I wish developers would release more demo's. This doesn't look bad at all but I'm not yet convinced like many games. A demo would really help many.
Ohhh nnoo! The character/enemy collision looks just like Ashen! I guess that wasn't an issue to A44 like it was for me. We'll know soon enough.
This looks fantastic. I’m more interested in the world and its lore than the combat, which seems serviceable, by the way. Overall, going to this from Ashen seems like quite the feat. I’m excited to see more from this developer.
To be honest I'm tired of people being tired of genres they don't enjoy themselves. Might want to do yourself and me a favor, and stay away from these titles.
You don't find me getting tired of games I don't like, because I ignore them...
I skimmed thru the video but gameplay definitely looked good.
