The First Descendant, first announced for PS5 and PS4 back in August, has a new Tokyo Game Show trailer. It's short but quite sweet, giving us another glimpse of this very promising co-op shooter.
The game's graphical prowess has certainly caught the eye over the last month or so, with an Unreal Engine demonstration raising a few eyebrows a couple of weeks after its reveal. But add some solid gunplay to the mix, along with some fun character designs, and we could be in for a bit of a surprise hit.
The First Descendant doesn't have a release date yet, but the free-to-play blast-'em-up is getting a beta test on Steam in October. As such, we should know a lot more about the game within the next month or so. Fingers crossed it lives up to expectations!

The game gives of vibes of Destiny gunplay and Titanfall fluidity which is clearly a good thing, but it'd be remise of me to get too excited and not learn from the false promises of games like Anthem and tempter my enthusiasm for this title, despite it's well presented trailers. I can only hope it delivers because it does look good.
If it plays as good as it looks, and it matches or exceeds the early buzz/hype, why would its success be a surprise?
@riceNpea Agreed! Anthem has left a sour taste in my mouth. I am quite suspicious of free-to-play. Hopefully this one turns out better.
Its free..if its really good great..if its a steaming turd i'll just delete it..
Why is the article title all goofy? Just have a title. Its not a conversation starter at a cocktail party.
@riceNpea that's what I thought... defo 3rd person destiny vibes, but hopefully with a slightly more robust rpg aspect to it? We'll see!
The capitalisation of all the words in the article titles drives me bananas - I never know what game is being referred to.
(That's my only gripe with the website, keep up the great work!)
Did not know they had beta registration up on Steam. See what happens
This looks way too good for an online shooter. It will either be extremly short or have severe issues.
We need more "little players vs GIANT MONSTERS" kind of games.
