Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai is an upcoming Dragon Quest spinoff that, aside from having one of the most awkward names ever, looks pretty great. We got a peak at some gameplay during Tokyo Game Show 2022, which debuted at the Dragon Quest stage event.
Infinity Strash is actually an action RPG, breaking with the series' usual turn-based format, and is more reminiscent of something like Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom in terms of actual gameplay. However, enemy designs and the overall aesthetic will remain familiar to fans.
The gameplay segment begins around the 1:02:00 mark and runs for around 15 minutes, during which time we get to see a bunch of combat (including a boss fight). The video is in Japanese, but helpfully there is an audio translation for English speakers alongside the presentation.

original comic 1989 - 1996 (342 episode / Weekly Shonen Jump)
TV anime 1991 - 1992 (46 episode)
Unfortunately, now.
So this is a manga adaptation of a game adapted into a game🤔
There is a new anime running since 2020, with more episodes and the art in this game is based in this new version. Pretty neat.
This looks nice, but tbh makes me glad the mainline games are still turn-based because this looks too much like FF.
This is a good thing. I only have fun with DQ Builders games because they are action RPGs. Turned based combat is so slow and boring it makes it impossible for me to enjoy DQ11, get past the mountain and then so many battles in the beginning you spend more time there than advancing the story.
@AstraeaV I couldn't disagree more. The reason most people in the west like Dragon Quest is because it sticks to turn based. While you are for sure in the majority that prefer action RPG those of us few who buy Dragon Quest do so because it is more strategic. Not boring. DQ 11 is anything but boring once you learn how to combine players who are in psyched up mode and combine to do thousands in damage. Slow yes, but a lot of us prefer that. You think it's boring you can't hack and slash your way to victory in every game. If I wanted that type of RPG I would buy Final Fantasy. If Dragon Quest turns action I along with a lot of others will be out. Would kill the franchise cause I would just buy Final Fantasy at that point that has much more experience in that type of RPG. Square is making a huge mistake here in my opinion. I'm not knocking you at all. But don't knock others by calling a game or style you don't like boring. Say it's not your personal cup of tea
@HOWARDSROCK Dragon Quest Builders is already Action RPG. DQ12 won't be turned based.
@AstraeaV and how do you know this? I know they said they were tweaking the combat but nowhere have I seen it will be an action RPG. Sources? I also stand by my original statement if they go full action they will lose and flop on the mainline series. Most will just stick to FF.
Pay attention. I didn't not say action combat for DQ12 but the developers said it will NOT be turned based. Take it up with them.
@Yayoi_KISARAGI This is actually based on the more recent 2020 anime series.

@KidBoruto
Thenk you, yes. The Adventure of Dai(comic) is great story.
But old anime(1991) was not enough length.
Long a go, I hoped to be complement by a game.
I have expected a game on PS1 or PS2.
@Yayoi_KISARAGI I hope you like the newer anime, if you do end up watching
@KidBoruto
Thank you for your kindness!
I’m enjoying.
@Yayoi_KISARAGI Happy to hear that ! I'm waiting for the english dub to surface in the USA myself.
@KidBoruto
