The multi-award-winning Little Orpheus is an action platformer in which you play as a Soviet cosmonaut in the 1960s who, instead of exploring space, is instead dropped inside an extinct volcano, and embarks on a journey like no other. It's available on PS5 and PS4 as of today, 14th September.
Developed by The Chinese Room, best known for their exploration gamesDear Esther and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Little Orpheus is inspired by classic films like Sinbad and The Land That Time Forgot. From what snippets we have seen, we can expect this particular journey to go to some pretty bizarre and unusual places, with some platforming and light puzzle solving to engage in along the way. Lovely.
What do you think of Little Orpheus? Where you a fan of The Chinese Room's previous games? Embark on an unlikely journey to the comments section below.

This is a huge difference from their previous titles, but I do like how this one looks.
I thought I read that The Chinese Room went under years ago. Good to see them back.
I played this on Apple Arcade at release and it is a great narrative story. As a platformer it is really basic, its really just a few timed jumps to be honest. Something more like Gris. But the story and narration are what makes it. It's a fun little ride.
@Anke
I recall that they had to cut back on staff and restructure in order to keep the company afloat.
@Vacuumator @Anke Jess and Dan did have to let everyone go after their VR game was done, then they got bought out by Sumo Digital so looks like things are on the up!
@Rudy_Manchego If its not to expensive ill bite.
@Flaming_Kaiser Yeah - it's a great little pallette cleanser and I was thoroughly engrossed but it was designed with mobile games in mind.
@Rudy_Manchego There are so many games a gamepass is useless to me i want to play in my own pace im behind so much already. These games are great to buy a little down the road.
