What do Mike Wazowski, Celia Mae, and Randall have in common? Well, yes, they’re all Monsters Inc characters – but they’ll also be playable in Gameloft’s Mario Kart rival Disney Speedstorm for PS5 and PS4! Announced during a livestream over the weekend, the friendly-yet-feared newcomers will be accompanied by a track named the Factory, inspired by the films.
Unfortunately, there’s still no release date attached to the racer, which will be free-to-play once it eventually hits the starting line. Do you have high hopes for this game at all? Can PlayStation finally find a compelling alternative to Mario Kart? Hit the gas during the countdown for a speed boost into the comments section below.

Asked me a month ago and I would have scoffed at the idea of at Gameloft making a solid console game. But Dreamlight Valley is great. Hopefully they can pull off a kart racer, but I still have genuine doubts about it.
Just an FYI game was announced in February in a Nintendo Direct w/ a summer 2022 release date which the website still has. Not so sure about them making that date though.😂

I'm really looking forward to this I hope it's good I've been waiting for a solid Disney kart racer for the longest time and most of my favourite characters are on the roster of racers all I need now are Raya and Human Sisu ^__^
Fascinating to see so many F2P kart racers suddenly appearing. Hopefully one of them will be decent!
Now would be a great time for monsters Inc scream team to come to ps plus premium just saying
@rjejr Unfortunately that's still just a vague release window, people were hoping for a solid release day to be finally confirmed.
@KidBoruto I think at this point Disney Speedstorm just goes live, they don't even announce a release date. I mean seriously seems like at least once a week we here something about that life sim game they recently released but no date yet for this? Come on man. I mean I don't even know but should we assume since it's free there's no disc version to go gold, they can just put it on the digital stores at a moments notice, they don't need to announce a date in advance for retail? The longer they wait, the more the holiday games start releasing. It's a free game as service, that they announced waaay back in February, was releasing in the summer, and now it's October. 🤷♂️
@rjejr Yeah no way are they making that Summer release window now, will def be delayed.
@KidBoruto "will def be delayed"
Well it wont' be delayed again if they don't give us a date this time and just release it when it's ready.😁
@rjejr Haha fair point!
@KidBoruto Went away for the weekend, catching up on emails as I try not to read them on vacation. So, no news on Speedstorm while I was gone. I did decide the game could get delayed again b/c Steam says 2022. So, if it doesn't release in 2022 it's delayed.

Somebody should tell them it's the middle of October, not much 2022 left to give a release date. Unless they are just going to put it up live at 3AM on a Wednesday w/o any advance notice? 🤷♂️
@rjejr I doubt they're gonna do that, not for a game tied to the big mouse.
We'll get an update eventually regarding the release date.
@KidBoruto "We'll get an update eventually"
Will the update come in 2022 or 2023? 😉
