The next expansion for chaotic action RPG Stranger of Paradise has been revealed, it's called Wanderer of the Rift, and it's coming to PS5 and PS4 on 26th October.
Wanderer of the Rift will continue Jack and company's quest to fight the darkness, introducing the new Blue Mage job class, which is capable of capturing and utilising special monsters in battle with the use of a Summoning Stone.
In addition, there is the new Labyrinth of Dimensions, a dungeon that will randomly configure your path as your progress forwards, new equipment and abilities, and a new class of Chaotic Monsters to add a more diverse challenge.

I've yet to start this.
I know narratively it's cheesy af, but the gameplay at least looks solid.
I'll try get to it before Christmas. Forbidden West, Kena and the Last of Us come first.
I have the season pass and Trials of the Dragon King was a RIP-OFF!!!!! Stranger of Paradise DLC is locked behind the hardest difficulty level!!!!

So, I didn't play it even I paid for it. Who greenlit this stupid idea?
I think I'll wait for a discount on the season pass. I really liked the main game but there's just so much to play
@belmont Oh wow, what a bad idea.
To be fair, I believe anyone can get to that level with enough grind but if you're someone who started with the easy mode, that might mean a hundred hours or more, which probably isn't what most people signed up for.
@Voltan I really enjoyed the game for what it is, a fun take in the OG Final Fantasy story with a simple combat system and played all the way casually in the ... casual difficulty setting. I really like the game, even in this easy setting beating the game felt rewarding.
However, I don't have the skill or the time to get the skill required to play the game in the hardest setting. In a day where videogames are started to becoming more and more accessible locking content this way is bizarre.
I'm so tempted by this game!
I've read bad reviews, but heard people say good things about it, and I don't know what to do!!!
@Gladio Download the demo and try it! There are both PS4 and PS5 versions.
@belmont Wasn't the demo only available for a limited time?
If I'm wrong and it’s still there, absolutely do download it, @Gladio. The game is definitely not for everyone but I had a ton of fun with it personally. I played the whole thing on Hard and then grinded some Chaos missions for the platinum but I'll admit I used a cheese tactic in that part a lot
@Voltan @Gladio The demo is still there, it is called "STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN DEMO VERSION", all caps for some reason.
@gladio if you arent digital only its pretty cheap used (25 in UK). worth it imo
Thanks for answering you all.
Downloading the demo right now.
Is it really representative of the game, though? I heard there have been a big patch that really bettered the graphics.
@Gladio The graphics are better and there are other QOL changes, but the demo should tell you if you're feeling the game or not. Also, progress from the demo carries over so that's a plus
Game with so much potential ruined. Is the garland armor STILL not in the game yet?
Is that Gilgamesh I see
Ok, so, I liked the demo.
Still playing it in fact. I love the Pugilist class, and just unlocked Monk and Rônin.
I'm very suprised: I tried this demo back in the day, on my Series X, and from what I remember, it wasn't looking that good, with many surfaces looking flat, lifeless. I wonder what happened. Maybe I wasn't in a good mood and my memory is tricking me?
I'm playing in easy mode, without the security option, and I'm having a good time!
@JohntheRaptor If that's not Gilgamesh, than they're a close cousin of him lol.
