Our latest look at Need for Speed Unbound is here, and it gives us a glimpse at what races will be like in this stylish racer.
As you would expect, the game is primarily about illegal street races, so the police will be on patrol and out to get you. This includes during events, so you'll have to watch your tail even if you're in the lead. Elsewhere, we see an in-game calendar that appears to show you what races and events are coming up. You'll need to pay an entry fee, but you can make much more than your money back by betting against the other drivers.
It doesn't look like it's doing anything too out of the ordinary, then, but it continues to look like a slick arcade racing game. What do you think of Need for Speed Unbound so far? Zoom into the comments section below.

They've made a believer out of me, looks fantastic!
I am in.
Looks great
Didn‘t they talk about photorealistic graphics?
@LIMA They were referring to the cars only which definitely are
Look like it'll be a really fun arcade racer. I hate those effects though, so I'm glad they can be turned off.
No option to play as the cops AGAIN?
Back to Rivals it is then.
I wish they had committed to the anime artstyle and had all the cars and environments in the same cel shading. This blend of realistic cars and cartoonish effects/characters just looks off.
@redd214
The cars look fine, like almost every racing game in the last decade. I was more referring to the city.
Those extra cartoon like effects really don't mesh with the rest of realistic aesthetic. It's a shame as the effects are what give the game some identity, but are really jarring.
@LIMA gotcha, they never mentioned anything about the city being photorealistic from what I recall.
The graphics divide opinion, thats a good thing, im in 👍
Driving mechanics look unchanged, from what I can tell, so I probably won't get it. The cars always drive like they have no power steering.
Still not keen. Sad times!
I'll probably pick this up at later date looks fun, but same release day as callisto so it's no competition there about choice
I like the look of this and gameplay gives me enough Burnout vibes. I'm not going to buy it day 1 but I'm putting it on my wishlist.
Looks like burnout paradise with colours on
Is that "risk and reward" a Burnout 3 reference? Because that's definitely what surfaced in my mind when I read it. Good to see Criterion back at the helm of a racing game. It's been too long.
@Styledvinny79 I thought something similar. Might put some people off, might attract others. For me, a sequel to Paradise was what I was hoping for so...I'm all for it.
Looks like nfs heat with anime effects not seeing what's 'next gen' about it at all
I'm not sure about this. It all looks a bit 'dude bro' for my tastes. My nephews will probably like it! 😂
I haven't played a racing game since Burnout Paradise, but I think I will wait until I see the MTX in this.
Very Need For Speed vibe.
Such a shame that the anime effects are an afterthought. Looks like every other NFS game aside from those.
Was genuinely interested after initial reveal, but this just looks like an idea they had halfway through development.
I don't get the hype. Appears like a bog-standard racing game to me. And the stylistic elements look silly and distracting, the streets lifeless and empty.
I would love to have a cool fully cel-shaded arcade racer, but since I'm old, I mean an arcade racer in the vein of the pre-"Underground" "Need for Speeds". I will never get that, I know. But "Unbound" doesn't induce much excitent in me, yet.
Looks really good. Prob won't buy it day one, but might be first NFS I will buy since Need for Speed 2015 which imo is best nfs to-date if you leave away heat.
This is Burnout with a NFS title and i dont mind it one bit.
I haven't played a NFS game since Most Wanted. This isn't a day one for me but I'm gonna get it during a dry season.
