It's no secret that violence will be a prevailing factor in the upcoming horror title The Callisto Protocol, so much so, in fact, that the game has had its Japanese release cancelled following a classification review. In the first episode of a three-part docuseries, director Glen Schofield, members of Striking Distance's development team, and icons from horror entertainment like Robert Kirkman sit down and dissect what makes for a truly terrifying experience.
The 15-minute-long episode delves into the game's brutality and why violence is essential to crafting a truly horrific experience. It's safe to say that this game will not be for the faint of heart, and likely one you will want to play out of sight of young and impressionable eyes. Or not, you do you; we turned out mostly fine, after all.
What do you think of the level of violence on display in The Callisto Protocol? Do you agree that brutality is at the core of a truly terrifying horror experience? Cower under the sheets in the comments section below.
