If you're a Formula 1-loving gamer, odds are you probably already own F1 22, the latest iteration of Codemasters' sim racer. However, for those still curious to give the game a try, it will soon be free to play for a few days.
From tomorrow, 20th October, through to 24th October, the game will enter a free trial period, in which you can download and play the game for no charge. This coincides with the real-life US Grand Prix at Austin's Circuit of the Americas, or COTA for short. To celebrate, there will be some American-themed in-game items available for free as well.
The above video promotes the free period, but it's also a fun watch — McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo hops into the game to provide some tips and advice for getting around the American circuit. There will also be an in-game challenge, in which you can attempt to beat Ricciardo's fastest lap. You can share your best time using hashtags #RicciardoChallenge and #F122gameSweepstakes during the free trial weekend. If you do, you'll be entered into a draw with a chance to win "a virtual meet & greet and race-off with Daniel Ricciardo himself".
Will you be hopping into the driver's seat with F1 22's free weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

Might give it a spin.
Me too. Been watching Drive to Survive recently so might be good to give this a go for a weekend.
I'm a fan of the sport but haven't played the game in years. I've pondered getting it a few times, so I'll certainly give a free try.
Been tempted by this a few times as i skipped last years entry but the inclusion of the daft "kit out your own pad" and the modern cars has really put me off it. Absolutely no need for this filler rubbish. Just improve the racing and advance the engine thats been used for god knows how many years.
