After announcing a PSVR2 adaptation of the Ghostbusters series is in the works, Sony Pictures has given the game an official title: Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord. The name was confirmed in a Kinda Funny livestream, where studio nDreams also revealed it'll be out for Sony's next-gen VR headset at some point next year. The device itself is slated for launch in early 2023.
In an interview with Greg Miller, game director Nathan Baseley said the game will be authentic to the movie series while telling a new story in a new city. It'll feature multiplayer, and the equipment the crew uses will tie into the possibilities of VR. He then adds: "We think this is the closest experience to being a Ghostbusters. You know, when you combine the teleportation of VR with multiplayer, I think that gets us as close as we're gonna get to being Ghostbusters." You'll be able to play the game on your own or with up to three other friends, with the campaign set in San Francisco.
Official details are still light on the ground, but with Sony planning on putting out the PSVR2 headset early next year, more may be around the corner. Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord joins the likes of Horizon Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, and Firewall Ultra as Confirmed PSVR2 Games.

Ah this isnt ghostbusters. This must be some Dollar General version.
Sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Would love to check it out if you want to invite me over, nDreams!
If Sony wants for PSVR2 to be successful they need to have more fully fledged games, as always HL Alyx comes to mind, that should be the standard for all VR games. Most VR games are "experiences" and I think Sony with PSVR OG tried to copy the concept of the Wii. Most Wii games where in fact "experiences" but the only difference was that you could enjoy those games with other people, that made those experiences in something fun. PSVR has to be about immersion. Imagine playing something like Cyberpunk style game, being a netrunner and jacking in all kind of stuff in VR that would be awesome.
That's a really terrible name.
