The new Need for Speed game, rumoured to be subtitled Unbound, is allegedly scheduled to hit the starting line on 2nd December, 2022. However, outside of the odd rumours, we still don’t really know much about the release. It looks like that will change this week, as the series’ official Twitter account has been overhauled.
One fan asked if a reveal is incoming, to which the account responded with the eyes emoji. You can pretty much take that as confirmation, then.
According to previous speculation, the new Need for Speed will include stylish “anime” elements, although apparently this will amount to little more than visual flourishes like sparks coming off your car while you drift. It’ll also allegedly feature an all-new map, which, well, you’d expect from a brand new game, wouldn’t you?
It seems all will be revealed in the coming days.

I’m sat here pleading it’s not awful.
It’ll most definitely be awful.
I'm fired up, too! I loved NFS Heat so I have high hopes for the next one. NFS Heat was the first NFS game I liked since the PS2 era, though.
All of the previous NFS games were thrash to be honest (except Rival ofc).
Kinda have low expectations for this one...
Multiplayer focus really killed the franchise for me with the whole autonav thing & no real story or progression thought they were turning things around with the more recent few but looks like they've changed course again
I'm just praying they've dropped all that anime cartoon garbage.
Just more of the last three games please.
@Anke well this one is being done by Criterion and Codemasters so I have high hopes for this one
it wont be good. why did midnight club have to die , and why is this series still selling ?
@nomither6 probably best it did die before rockstar turned it into midnight club online micro transactions edition remix
@nomither6
Midnight Club LA would be fantastic as a remake. Why is RockStar so mean??!
Looking forward to the reveal, I’ve enjoyed Need For Speed more than not. Every chance I’ll enjoy this one too.
I played Heat recently, having originally avoiding it due to disliking the way NFS has gone. Seemed I was right to do so and ended up giving it a solid 2 out of 10, on my game collection on here. This is sounding like it's going beat that... and not in a good way.
My predictions range from live service trash to a game that doesn’t require internet+is as good as Hot Pursuit 2010 or dare I say it the 2000s Need for Speed games.
All I know is that they’ll have to win me over, because Hot Wheels Unleashed currently is my favourite racing game of the 2020s and the 9th generation in general.
