20 More PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Available Now on PS5, PS4

Been wanting to try Chorus. The rest, doubt I'll get time.

As an Extra tier sub, there might be few games for me here. Still, a tough sell for Premium folk.

They pay £16 extra for the year, and get a few extra games to download and the ability to stream everything, including hundreds of PS3 games. Can’t feel too bad about it.

Let's get real about this: the difference between Extra and Premium is a large take-away pizza. It is a third of a tank of petrol. It is a round of beers down the pub. It is a couple of breakfasts from a roadside diner. It is not actually a lot of money in November, 2022.

You don't have to like Premium. But to claim that it is a rip-off is just not true. Especially when most adults spend that difference every couple of days minimum. Spend it on a pizza or spend it on Premium, it's the same deal at the end of the day.

Am I missing something here - why will it only let me stream Edith Finch and not download? And it says it’s just the ps4 version.

Anybody able to assist? It’s literally the only game I want from the list! I’ve got the top tier ps plus, whatever it’s called.

@LifeGirl I think the rip off part of it is that Sony won’t commit to what you get. Which is my biggest concern of most plus, “give us your money and we might give you something back”

It was even less money in September 2022.

But it'll be more money than now in January 2023.

Sure, most adults pay the difference every few days on other things. Other things they need. And that's going to become tighter and tighter.

That £16? That's a week of travel too and from work. And as management on just above minimum wage? That £16 I could spend on PS+ Premium for things I'm not going to use, or don't work great like the streaming, or having little to no value added to it each month? That's gonna have to go into something that gives value.

Subjective yes, but people place needs before wants and they then divide what little wants they can have by value offered.

And to many Premium is low down that list.

@frabbit click on the 3 dots next to the game title, then select what remains of edith finch, then you should see Game with a down selection arrow, click this and choose Game one thats not got a tick, you should then beable to add to library

Can anyone download Rainbow Six Siege on PS Extra, its saying premium only?, I thought this was part of the Extra lineup.

Man I just want to be able to download the PS3 games. I didn’t have a PS3 back in the day so I think I’d have a blast. Haven’t tried streaming yet but for R&C Deadlocked, I will. That’s after I beat GoW Ragnarok haha

@Rocky7 nah it’s not working for me. It’s letting me stream the PS4 version, or buy the PS5 one. Awesome 😔

Rainbow Six Siege has the most toxic player base I've ever came across - and I say this with nearly 1000hrs in GTA:O. Ok, maybe not the most toxic then 😀

Played on PC. Did the learner missions, then played my first ever actual match. On a beginner's level. Team killed in the second round as someone didn't like me losing the last round when I was the last player standing and stupidly died.

Happened in other games as well, several times.

@LifeGirl The argument "it doesn't cost much over extra" doesn't pass the pub test though considering it was marketed on there being a library of psp,ps1/ps2 games & streaming (where available) PS3 titles.

To date,there's been an underwhelming few psp/ps1 titles added,(& emulation lacklustre even for ps5),& zero "new" ps2 additions since the long defunct ps2 classics on ps4....instead of putting resources into getting ps2 versions of the Sly Cooper & Ratchet & Clank series playable on ps4/5 or porting the HD PS3 titles they only made them available to the few regions that had PS Now streaming.

This is even more apparent for those of us in the PS Deluxe regions where there is no streaming. Essential costs $80/yr here,$140 for Deluxe... the blog updates completely ignore Deluxe territories & its been months since the last psp/ps1 titles even appeared.

They're charging for a tier that isn't adding the library of games for Deluxe regions,& seem to be overly relying on streaming to cover their lack of effort providing psp/ps1/ps2 content. If Premium was merely a marketing rebadge of PS Now, then they should've been upfront about it & scrap the Deluxe tier.

@Rocky7 it’s not even showing on the app as part of the ps plus additions. I found it on there by looking through the Upgraded for PS5 section and it’s still only letting me buy it, whereas I can see other games that have the Plus logo and “Included” next to them.

Oh well, would be nice to know if it’s just me having the issue or if it’s across the board though!

I feel as though these new plus tiers especially premium needs the big stage showcase like the December goty awards as advertising with PS putting some worthy deals together and more PS1 classics with trophy support on premium for the goty awards and for extra too. A lot need convincing to go to premium and right now no one is convinced

With Greedfall leaving Extra, I just checked and I can't upgrade to the PS5 version from when I claimed it through the old PS Plus/NOW. I wouldn't mind, but I traded in the physical copy when it came onto Extra. And I've tried on the app, I can only download the PS4 version or purchase the standard edition for 30 quid.

Please Sony find a way for to emulate and download the PS3 games on the PS5 without streaming. There is always a slight input lag when streaming and as a long time gamer, I hate input lag more than anything else. I have my ethernet cable plugged into my PS5 and I have speeds of up to 800mbps and it's still there.

Would give RSS a go if there are any kinds of offline modes with AI. Not interest in playing online. Can anyone confirm there is offline content to play?

@Robocod I thought it was pretty clear from the beginning that Premium was just a rebranding of PS Now.

@Milktastrophe But why then create the Deluxe tier in non PS Now regions if they had zero intent of expanding the classics library with natively downloadable/emulated games?

As it currently stands,it's a tier being charged for without games being provided for it. Despite numerous posts on the blog & elsewhere,they continue to maintain silence...much like the early promises of expanding the streaming service or even ntsc/PAL region downloads of ps1 games!

Despite the "Premium/Deluxe" product branding ,its just coming across as a cheap effort they don't have their heart (nevermind resources), thrown into. (Extra clearly being their focus).

Any info on more games being removed?

When viewing the game collection through the app a couple of weeks ago and filtering for PS5 there was a total of 54. As of today it's down to 20. From memory Miles Morales, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Wreckfest have all disappeared plus a lot more. Have Sony done this on the sly and nobody has noticed yet?

@frabbit having the same issue. I've got extra and have the option to purchase for £4.79 or upgrade to premium.

I'm only seeing the ps4 version for Edith Finch. I was looking forward to downloading the PS5 version but that's currently not available through PS+.....more inaccurate information from Sony.

I haven't tried most of the games here so I am not complaining.

On a somewhat related note, anyone having problems downloading the Cyperpunk 2077 PS Plus Trial? I'm always met with an error message whenever I try to download it from my PS5.

I downloaded DQ Heroes 2 and it's actually not too bad. I'm not a fan of the hack n slash/musou genre at all and never particularly liked the first game but this feels a bit more RPG and the visuals are delicious.

Already a few hours in to Skyrim with my Accidentally-a-bit-like-Geralt character 😆 I was just randomly adjusting things on the Nord to see what sliders and styles there are, and then this guy just appeared so I stuck with it 🙃

@Jeanhenry I did a search on the app and it is only showing the 20 PS5 games on the catalogue, so you can't find GoT, Miles Morales etc. Buuuuut on the app it also says I can play GoT and Death Stranding on console (I have them downloaded) So I don't know what's gone wrong with the store's catalogue/search function or ability to claim the games from the game catalogue.

Oh, I also noticed the other day that previous games like RDR2 and WRC10 were popping up in the catalogue page, but only to buy. So there's definitely something going on with it

@Ravix Yeah something definitely not right behind the scenes. I've played MM & GOT and both still available to download as well as Death Stranding which I've yet to. Hopefully they get it sorted soon.

@Jeanhenry it's so weird. I've checked on console now, and there's no way to even filter results for PS5 titles in the catalogue anymore.

People will have to manually search for games and hope they can download if they hadn't already claimed them into their library, I guess. But just browsing, basically all the games I've played and want to play (GoT, Guardians of the Galaxy, Miles Morales, Death Stranding) can't be seen when browsing the catalogue.

Luckily Skyrim showed up as advertised, as I'm going to be absolutely immersing myself in that for the foreseeable 😅

@Ravix Yeah that's why I posted so hopefully the powers that be could investigate further.

Fortunately I had added quite a few to my library and although not checked them all, the ones I have are still available to download. Did think maybe because now in library but they were still showing on the list as purchased up until the weekend.

Will have to go back through the blog posts to find any I've not added to library and see what they say now. Can't believe they've just suddenly expired and nobody has picked up on it and edging towards an error but knowing Sony of late anything is possible!

People can't claim games that should be available.

If we search on the store for PS5 games on the catalogue then only 20 show when there should be over three times that listed.

And games that have already left are appearing in the catalogue page view. It's a total mess at the moment 😅

@frabbit edith finch is available now to download (ps5 version). I had to find it via the ps store though, it's not showing in the game catalogue
