Asymmetric survival horror game Level Zero is a multiplayer title in which a team of scientists must attempt to repair various electrical sub-systems in order to survive, all the while being hunted down and devoured by hideous sci-fi monstrosities.

Four players put on the scrubs of the scientists, whose main defence against the beasts is light itself, in the form of torches, spotlights and flares. This will only keep the nightmares at bay, buying you just enough time to get the job done. Rather than relying on twitch reflexes, the key to success in Level Zero is coordination, as players need to work closely together in order to make the necessary repairs.

Two players will control the monsters themselves, using stealth and the vent network to take the pitifully weak humans by surprise. They can sense heartbeats through walls and use telepathic abilities to disable sources of light, pouncing once darkness falls. Random blackouts will also affect the map, giving the creatures (who can see in the dark, of course) a prime opportunity to strike.

What do you think of Level Zero? Does an asymmetric multiplayer game appeal to you, or would you prefer things were more equal, all things considered? Don't turn out the lights in the comments section below.
