Not to be outdone by Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0's complete domination of the shooter space in recent days, Battlefield 2042 has debuted some Escalation gameplay ahead of the launch of Season 3 in a suitably bombastic trailer.
Escalation will introduce quite a bit of content into 2042, even if, admittedly, much of it is just old stuff that got a bit of a rework. There is the new map, Spearhead, which takes place in the untamed wilderness of Sweden, featuring rolling hills and idyllic rivers just begging to be blown up. In addition, older maps Breakaway and Manifest have been given a once over and should flow better now.
There is a new operator, Rasheed Zain, who can use his Airburst Launcher to flush enemies out of cover, and will regain health twice as fast as normal once he does finish them off. Railgun tech has hit the battlefield, too, with the Rorsch Mk-4 rifle and the NVK-S22 Smart Shotgun coming online, not to mention the powerful EMKV90-TOR tank.
Finally, there will be an all-new Battle Pass containing 100 tiers of free and premium content for players to work their way through. Season 3: Escalation will launch on 22nd November for PS4 and PS5. What do you think of the new content coming to Battlefield 2042, will you be diving back in? Well i played the first warzone a lot,a hell of a lot so when bf2042 dropped on my ps5 it was a much needed distraction and i've really enjoyed my time with the game despite all the negative press its had thrown at it since launch. But then mw2 and warzone 2 dropped in and decimated bf2042. Everything bf2042 does mw2 just does and handles everything so much better. R.I.P bf2042.
@Northern_munkey pretty much my experience too, really wanted to enjoy 2042 more, and it does seem to be heading in the right direction. That being said, haven't been able to stop playing MW2 since it dropped, especially loving DMZ
@Khayl yes dmz is really good and really well implimented. I wish i could say my first 2 evenings with it went all peachy but it was terrible. You just could not sign in and when you did eventually manage to get in a game of quads it kicked you out. Dmz was not even playable for those 2 evenings but over the weekend its been brilliant and very stable.
free everywhere but ps too.
@KAIRU It is in a much better place, especially compared to the beta which almost scared me off, but honestly, I couldn't recommend it. We are in a weird place now where Call of Duty is doing Battlefield better than Battlefield, and Warzone at least is free haha
