Ukrainian developer Frogwares has released the first gameplay footage of its partially crowdfunded Sherlock Holmes remake, Sherlock Holmes The Awakened. This follows in the immaculately polished footsteps of the previous game, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One – although it’s bringing a distinctively Cthulhu-infused spin to the mix.
While the game is based on the 2008 title of the same name, it’s being completely rebuilt in Unreal Engine for PS5 and PS4, with an expanded storyline, new side-quests, revamped animations, and fresh gameplay mechanics. For all their flaws, we enjoy solving Frogwares’ sprawling murder mysteries, and the supernatural twist here is sure to add some seasoning to the series’ traditional sleuthing.

Love the Sherlock Holmes games by frog wares got the plat for every one I’ve played. I didn’t start playing them until Crimes and Punishment so this is new to me and I love both things they are combining so I can’t wait
Very much excited for this. Adored Chapter One even though the last thing I’d say is that it was ‘immaculately polished’. I know it was a Sherlock joke but it’s an interesting choice of words considering how incredibly unstable the game is 😂
Imagine this game with a Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu mod.
@nessisonett Hopefully Chapter One will be mostly patched by the time I get around to playing it.
I just hope that this remake wont struggle to run like Chapter One does
A Sherlock Holmes game with supernatural elements??
The animations are a little weird, but as a story-driven game, it's worth a look.
The immaculately polished bit was sarcasm right? 😁 Regardless, I always look forward to some Frogwares Holmes.
I haven't played Chapter One, can anyone tell me if it's worth a purch. I absolutely loved Crimes & Punishments but didn't enjoy Devils Daughter so much.
