Eagerly anticipated dark fantasy Soulslike Lies of P is apparently feature complete, with the game entering the final stages of development. Officially, the game is set to release in the wide-open window of simply "2023", but it is entirely possible we will see this particular title sooner than previously expected.
In an interview with Japanese outlet 4Gamers, which comes to us via TheGameSpoof, game director Choi Ji-Won had the following to say on the matter, noting, "we announced in August that the game was 70% complete, but now it’s in a much more advanced state. Most of the development has been completed and the rest is in the assembly stage, we are fixing bugs, refining and putting the finishing touches".
Previously, Ji-Won has discussed the game's length, inspiration and franchise potential, and we have seen some extremely promising gameplay out of the title.
When do you think we will see the release of Lies of P? Are you looking forward to this twisted take on the classic fairy tale? Tell no lies in the comments section below.

Has a ton of potential. Hopefully this means we’ll see even more soon
What we have seen so far LOOKS fantastic, hopefully it can get the crucial gameplay loop and difficulty balance right, which is not an easy task, and nail the landing. Day 1 GP FTW.
Probably my most anticipated game at this point
This game was on my wishlist from the very first moment I heard of it.
N.i.c.e. cant wait for lies of p.this game looks amazing.i l💚ve. Souls like games.word up son
Game looks amazing. 2023 has so many great looking games. Day one for this guy.
Hopefully Lies of P gets a physical release at launch or sometime down the road. Lies of P looks incredible, my only concern is that I hope it don't play too similar to Steelrising, because after playing Steelrising, I couldn't help but realize how similar Lies of P & Steelrising were on a surface-level perspective.
It's Pinocchio, not Pinnochio 😉
@KaijuKaiser - The more I see of Lies of P, the more I realize how similar it appears to be to Steelrising, both of which clearly took inspiration from the London Gothic Architecture that Bloodborne utilized, but other than that and the fact that they're both Soulslike games, I think that's where the similarities end.
Lies of P is more comparable to Steelrising than it is to Bloodborne, even down to who you play as and how you move and fight, in Steelrising you're a Marionette Automaton, in Lies of P you play as a Mechanical Puppet.
Looks really good, so looking forward to giving it a go.
Interested to find out exactly what lies Pinocchio tells, and how long his nose gets by the end.
I won't be buying this at full price since it's a souls-like, but definitely interested.
I'm honestly digging this game a lot more than BB right now. I like the weird automaton enemies, the faster combat, and the fact that you're actually playing as Pinocchio of all people is the biggest appeal. Really looking forward to it
