Final Fantasy XIV continues to be one of the deepest rabbit holes a console player can lose themselves down, with the onslaught of content continuing in the next upcoming major patch, 6.3, entitled Gods Revel, Lands Tremble.
Launching in early January 2023, Gods Revel, Lands Tremble will continue the MSQ and follow the Warrior of Light's latest exploits, with new instalments in side story questlines coming as well, such as Tartaru's Grand Endeavour.
In addition, there will be a new 8-player Trial, an Unreal Trial (featuring Sophia), a 24-player Alliance Raid (Myths of the Realm: Euphrosyne), an Ultimate Raid, a Dungeon (Lapis Manalis), as well as updates to the Duty Support System, Gold Saucer content, and the usual menagerie of bug fixes, tweaks, and quality of life improvements.
All of this and more was revealed in Live Letter 74, which, as usual, chronicles each item in exhaustive detail. Be sure to check the full list for all the juicy details and what other additions are coming to the game further down the line.
Are you keeping up to date with the MSQ in Final Fantasy XIV? We are past the halfway mark to the next major expansion, where do you think the current storyline is leading? Let us know in the comments section below.

Like an idiot I kept putting this one off, again and again and again and now I've probably missed the boat, it's way too late to get started with it. Dead impressed with the No Man's Sky-esque redemption it seems to have pulled off though!
@BowTiesAreCool yes, there is a lot of content to get through but there's nothing wrong with taking it at your own pace. Lots of new players are doing the same thing so you won't be alone in that sense.
@BowTiesAreCool This is still one of the top 5 MMOs in terms of player count so I wouldn't say it's too late at all.
@BowTiesAreCool you can always download the free trial, it includes everything in the base game and first expansion.
You no longer play as the "Warrior of Light"
@BowTiesAreCool it was NMS before NMS.
But yeah. It's terrific. 6.0 was where I stepped out after 8 years. The story arc completed. Everything since that is just Epilogue. But props to anyone still enjoying it.
@BowTieAreCool its never too late to start ff14 while there is a lot of content there's nothing that you can miss out on that'll make you overpowered or rewards some games do that help you feel Powerful over other players if that's what you mean by too late
@BowTiesAreCool Same here. Plus I just never have the time or money to invest into a huge MMO.
If I ever did it would definitely be FF14 though.
@BowTiesAreCool it's never too late. Older content is constantly being run thanks to the level sync and roulette systems. Granted, DPS have longer wait times, but you can always find a group. Besides, the story is amazing and definitely worth a play through. The game is free till level 60 to boot.
So yeah, never too late and to try it costs nothing
Honestly square enix bring this too xbox for crying out loud. We had ff11 on xbox and since then they have ignored us (except for 12 remastered and 15).
