Rammatra has been revealed as the very first Hero to be added after the launch of Overwatch 2. Announced during the Overwatch League Grand Finals, the new Tank character will join the ranks on 6th December 2022 alongside the game's second season. You can view their origin story video above.
"Ramattra’s story is complex and multifaceted, and his ultimate goal is to protect his people—but the cost of that goal is still to be determined," reads an Activision Blizzard post. "Originally a war machine, Ramattra shed his munitions for a shield to protect his people by promoting peace and tranquility. His ideals weren’t far removed from his fellow Shambli monk, Zenyatta. However, Ramattra’s story is one of hardships, trauma, and a magnified view of humanity’s harsh realities."
The Tank will come in two states: a normal Omnic form and then a more powerful form called Nemesis. Rammatra fires projectiles out of a staff and creates barriers to protect his team in the standard form, but activate his Nemesis form and he whips out some powerful melee attacks. These heavy blows can punch straight through barriers, providing a counter to the likes of Winston and Zarya.

Looks like another Reaper just basing it off appearances alone. I haven't been playing OW2 after dropping it a week after it released and seeing how little was changed/ how terrible the battle pass was but I really hope they get back on their feet and they knock it out of the park with the PvE content. With today's Blizzard though...I'm not holding my breath.
Cant wait to shoot him with Solider 76. Thats my role on the team is to shoot down the support and Tanks. Overwatch 2 is balanced outstandingly compared to the first game. Favorite shooter right now after leaving Halo Infinite. Glad to see all and any content hit the game. Can’t wait to see the new map.
They need to add back the old maps
@Green-Bandit you really think the balance is good? it’s better than ow1 but that’s literally not saying much
@nomither6 i think it’s pretty good yes. I’m sure by season 2 or no later than 3 they will have it as good as it can be. Was sorry to see them have some glitches and have to remove some heroes. But Overwatch 2 is my favorite competitive game on the market at the moment. I play all my shooters on Xbox and PC and Overwatch 2 on the Series X and i would imagine PS5 as well looks and plays just as smooth as the PC. So for cross play it really comes down to what controls you prefer and i really like that. Sorry I’m rambling on about it. But i love this game at the moment and can’t wait to see what season 2 and 3 brings.
@Green-Bandit i doubt it plays as good on PS5 honestly ; i have a PC too and tried overwatch 2 on it , and it plays noticeably smoother/better on PC than my ps5 . Now it could be because i don’t have a 120hz TV so i could be wrong & i also doubt that the ps5 plays better than the series X too , since overwatch 1 ran better on Xbox than ps5 because of the update it got that playstation didn’t .
and i’m really curious to ask you this - what modes do you play mostly ?? do you play comp ? what rank if you do ??
@nomither6 so you make a great point in that if your tv isn’t 120 than for sure go PC, i play on a LG C1 with 120 and VRR. I also choose performance mode, so it drops the Res and up the frames. So on my Series X with the Oled it is smooth and fast. I created a new Battle.net account yeas back and so when Overwatch 2 came out i now have to win 50 matches before i can play Ranked. But my Stats so far at 41 wins 48 losses, kills 1,122 deaths 489 and Best kill streak is 22. So i am a average to slightly above average player i guess you could say. I can’t play shooters on PlayStation controllers, cause i don’t like the asymmetric sticks, i need the offset sticks or mouse and keyboard. If the Dual sense edge would let me configure off set sticks i would pay the $200, it would be worth it for me.
@Green-Bandit well the problem is i prefer console and can’t stand keyboard and mouse , & im afraid to use controller on PC with shooters since it’s a supposedly big disadvantage.
and i’d have to buy an xbox controller because i ain’t using playstation controllers on PC , due to the X A B Y , RT , LT , layout
@nomither6 yeah i prefer console also. I have a pc and play some games on it. Half life and RTS, a few shooters of course, but i prefer console gaming way more. I have a PS5 and Series X and Switch and play there way more than PC. I believe the Xbox Controller is the best shooter controller ever made. The layout and feel of the triggers are just perfect for me. PS controller work just fine for God of War and Last of us. But I wouldn’t use a Dual sense for shooters. It’s just not for me.
@Green-Bandit hell , i think the xbox controllers are the best controllers of all time . the xbox360 controller is still the best imo , despite the d-pad. playstation controllers were always my least liked controllers and the fail-sense is no different 😂 i prefer the ps4 controller by a long shot .
and you have all the gaming devices i see , all i’m missing is xbox but i don’t think it’s a necessity yet , and my switch is amazing at catching dust
@nomither6 i can’t disagree, i mean i love Xbox Controllers. I have 360 ones that i collected and i still just hold them sometimes just to see if they hold up the test of time and i think they do. Xbox one-Series X controller are near perfect for me. I started disliking sony controllers around PS3, the six axis with a $600 dollar console was just not quality at all. Playing shooters are it compared to the 360 controller was just night and day. So since that era PS consoles have mostly been Sony exclusives for me, as is my Nintendo consoles and Xbox and PC play everything else. Speaking of Switch, you are right, lately there hasn’t been anything i wanted to play to much. I was hoping they would release Metroid Prime for switch, that is one of my favorite nintendo games of all time. Hope Prime 4 is late 2023, but i won’t hold my breath on that. I guess between the PS4 and PS5 controller i don’t have a favorite. There are things about both i like and dislike, oh no fail sense, sounds like you had some quality issues. I have only had my PS5 since like April of 2022. Again i only play Exclusives on it but have had no issues with it yet, just a really poor battery life. My Xbox recharge kit give me around 35- 40 hours. Switch Pro controller last forever on a single charge. But my Dual sense needs charged about every 2 to 3 times i turn on the console.
