PS Plus Premium Gets Five Ratchet & Clank Games on 15th November

It's not enough for the 20th anniversary

So ratchet PS5 should be on extra this month

It would have been way better if the ps2 versions of these games were also offered along with the ps3 versions. Same thing happened with the Sly 20th anniversary as well. Cloud Streaming is still not available in many countries.

Nice, missed quite a few of these. Got and completed rift apart but that would have been a bigger deal to add that.

@Grumblevolcano idk anymore about Sony. I mean a returnal pc looks like it's happening and returnal is on extra. Sony is unpredictable anymore who knows what they're thinking.

Wow, I never thought they'd actually add new PS3 games that weren't on Now. I've really been wanting to plat the PS3 stacks!

@ATaco Ratchet and Clank 1-3 and Deadlocked weren't on Now. They were highly requested, but never added.

Remember when they released PS2 games on PS4? Remember when they said that PS2 games would be included with Premium? It’s becoming increasingly clear that Sony just could not care less about Premium, and Extra is the only one worth getting.

@twitchtvpat Got that, but these games are also on PS2 which would be downloadable if they used those versions.

I know they weren't the greatest, but why not add the psp games?

I was hyped for a split second thinking the PS2 originals were coming, and then I spotted it's streaming the PS3 versions.
With Ratchet's janky helmet size and Deadlocked having so many weird glitches, on top of it being streaming only... nice! :/

Streaming has never been a problem with me hardlined. Plus it's cool to see them add Deadlocked. Because that wasn't on PS Now.

@jimbouk Couldn’t agree more. Where I live, Deluxe replaces Premium. So I missed all the Sly Cooper games and will miss these too.

@nessisonett Even more apparent if you're in a PS Deluxe Territory where there isn't any streaming! First Sly Cooper,now Ratchet?

Not only has there been zero "new" PS2 Classics added since the short lived PS2 Classics on PS4 range,but apart from the Jak series,if I'm not mistaken aren't most of the other ps2 classics incompatible or "run with glitches" on ps5?🤔
(Own a few on ps4 but yet to upgrade)

We've seen minimal PS1 content,(& running on a seemingly average emulator),whilst they've seemingly made no attempt to update or create a new ps2 emulator....yet they charge it at the highest tier! (Deluxe is about $140 just $20 shy of double the price of Essential).

On one hand they have the resources for Uncharted & even Sackboy PC Ports or Mobile devices studios,,but PS1 & PS2 Classics emulated classics nevermind ports of HD PS3 remasters are put in the too hard/expensive basket by Mr Ryan & Mr Hulst.🙄😑

@Robocod Of course yeah, I live in an area with streaming but I didn’t even think about the fact these games aren’t coming at all if you don’t have streaming.

Well, if I can't download them, I'd rather just play them on my PS3.

What I'm really waiting for is A Rift Apart to come to the service.

As someone who didn’t have access to PS Now before the new PS Plus became a thing, I welcome this addition. I intend to play all of them too (already played A Crack In Time via the cloud and it worked well and was awesome)

Good games, Going Commando is probably my second favorite game in the series still.

Streaming is...still an unfortunate work around for the PS3 library.

Wish they would release the future games and the spin offs, as hd remasters for ps4/ps5

If my internet was better I'd be down for the streaming, but it's kinda poopy, so I kinda shrug my shoulders whenever a new title is released as stream only.
But it's still a great workaround for anyone that can't get their hands on original copies!

I’ve wanted to play Deadlocked for so long! I played it as a teen/adult and can’t remember if I beat it or not. I don’t think I did. The more Ratchet & Clank we get, the better the subscription is!

Tools of Destruction was my favorite, followed by Up Your Arsenal and then the tower defense game, Full Frontal Assault. I don’t mind streaming the games; that’s fine by me—saves on hard drive space. That said, old Ratchet and Clank games had a propensity to slow down—a lot. Upgraded versions that could improve and stabilize the frame rate would be hugely appreciated…but we won’t get that with the PS3 games. Still, all those games mentioned are great games worth playing.

We’re these not there already? Or did they remove them so could make a fuss out of adding them like sly?

Why — WHY — can't they just make PS3 downloadable and offer up Premium games a la carte? I would pay Sony $200 right now to get all of these + Sly divorced from PlayStation Plus.

Rift Apart on Extra for December then? Boost those Xmas sales.

@nessisonett remember when the ps3 could play PS1 games no matter what model you had ? PS5 can only play PS4 games , yet it’s bigger than the ps3 that could play all previous gens . smh

Majority of the games have been on plus essential over the years so I'm not missing much being on extra 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

@Vil it's good when you still have a PS3 and the games too, I don't need to rely on this service, and never will, still have over 200 games for PS3

I'll just stick to the PS3 versions. At least I won't have to worry about any performance issues that come with streaming games, and I already own all of them but Deadlocked.

Really debating whether to subscribe to the new premium service, not sure if it's worth it yet or not after reading so many negative comments throughout the community. For the ones that have subscribed how many are actually happy with the service?

@KidBoruto I have a tendency to be a negative cus, so I figured I’d try to stay positive with my first post. Ratchet and Clank games are all good, quality games, and I’m glad the PS+ service is adding GOOD games and not shovelware. Kudos to Sony for that. That said, I totally agree with you. Sony’s offering multiple games from the same franchise—and PS3 streaming versions rather than downloadable versions? C’mon, Sony! It reeks of laziness, unoriginal thinking, and cost-saving (since they’re all Sony properties and they don’t have to pay, say, Konami or Square or Capcom to add their games to the service).

As a subscriber, I don’t want four or five games from the same franchise all released in the same month. I don’t need four Yakuza games in the same month…or four Dragon’s Quest games…or four Final Fantasy games in one month. One or two games a month from the same franchise is good. Spread ‘em out, and tease us that more are coming in the future. It’d give us something to look forward to, and I’m fine with delaying gratification as long as I’ve got good stuff to play in the meanwhile.

By doing what they’re doing, Sony runs the risk of losing subscribers. If they release four or five games from the same franchise in a single month and their subscribers don’t give a rip about that franchise? Uh-oh, there went a million subscribers.

Bottom line: I want variety. There are 3,061 PS1 games, at least 3,870 PS2 games, 2,561 PS3 games, nearly 3,300 PS4 games, and 807 PSP games…and, yet, Sony’s offering 5 Ratchet and Clank games this month? C’mon.

@nessisonett Yep,Sony seem to be as sadly deliberately silent on the lack of content on PS Deluxe as they are of acknowledging all the territories still stuck with it when they post to the blog on the rare premium updates...just sad that rather than live up to the promise of opening up the back catalogue of classics they've taken the cheap ps1 mini type approach for Jim Ryan to keep justifying its "not popular" when he's continually put in minimal effort/resources!😑

@ATaco actually no. I had both now and plus and all the ratchets have never been on there. I would know as I've always wanted them as I'm a huge ratchet and clank fan! One of my top series of all time. I'm stoked, id totally buy a whole collection just to play them again

@AnarchyStudios there are alot of negative Nancy's here. This is a UK site. So figures. Over where I live me and my fiance and plenty others I know personally and online on ps love premium. You got hundreds of games across all gens even psp minus vita. Tons of genres to choose from. Way more value then gamepass which has only like 250 games vs hundreds upon hundreds. Plus I own over 600 games myself and still find plenty of games to play on this service. Try it for yourself don't let all these a holes tell you off. Form your own opinion

@KidBoruto i played and finished all the Ratchet games on PS3 last year in anticipation for getting a PS5 with the new Ratchet. Might've been 720p but it didn't lag 😂

@KidBoruto I think I did? PS3 trophies still work I believe.
