Just praying I can get one. Price is within expectations for the tech included. Next gen is about to begin people!
600€, only sold in that awful Sony Store here, no Game included, no backwards compatibility. VR2 will be the Vita 2
This is... ouch. Hopefully it'll be worth it!
Whoop!!! 🎉
Pricey maybe, but it is what it is
Glad we finally have the details, my body is ready!!
Price is pretty much what I expected. I imagine they were targeting $499 before the economy went mad.
Absolutely can't wait!
I was expecting something closer to €500 than 600 but oh well. Still getting it.
Looks like I'll have to dust off my credit card....
@IonMagi My God, do you ever cool it with the negativity man?
Edit: It's pricey for sure, but it's a high end product. Let's wait and see how it goes, I'm sure Sony know what they're doing.
I honestly didn’t think it’d be so much
I made the mistake of buying PSVR day 1 and missing out on the amazing bundles that came later.
Don't mistake me, I am buying this, just when you get a couple of games thrown in around 6 months after launch.
@IonMagi Guaranteed the pre-orders will sell out.
@TwoPieceTanookiSuit I would If Sony wouldnt ***** the bed all the time Not sure how you can defend VR2 at this price, with no Games to play on and a very lame Launch line-up
@Sqush-Pare Well the Vita also sold great at the beginning (: Sony couldnt even get Valve to port HL Alyx on Launch.
Wasn't fully set on buying day 1 and wanted a good deal later down the road with a bigger selection of games. But that price just made that even easier.
Price is a bit steep but expected nowadays. Maybe I'll buy one in the future.
The price isn't even bad compared to competitive headsets. And the launch lineup (which will continue to grow) is pretty great. A horizon game, resident evil village, star wars, VR support for resident evil 4 within the next month of release, Demeo, No man's sky support, The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners 2, and Firewall Ultra. Not to mention the tons of other games confirmed for it that won't be there day 1, but it's enough to keep us busy for some time
Day one buy for me. Can't wait for this. As if February needed to be more loaded.
@IonMagi
What a comment, lol. But then we could have all predicted it from you. You really need to learn to enjoy more in life.
On the cost, It’s not that much more than I paid for PSVR at release to be honest. I think that was £350, but then had to buy the camera and the moves. Worth every penny. And so is this given the tech and the economy currently being what it is for manufacturers and distributors.
Really can’t wait!
Still a wait and see for me. The lack of backwards compatibility is still a sore point, but it's now a question of how good the VR games will be, especially seeing that we will have the Oculus Quest 3 around this time next year.
I'm more disappointed that Sony haven't done a PSVR2 showcase as of yet.
Too rich for my blood! This seems reasonable for the tech though, so it’s about what I expected, maybe even a little cheaper than I expected. Hope it sells well and people who want to are able to get their hands on it
My heart was hoping for around $400 but I wasn't expecting it. $550 was where my brain had it at. I'll have to wait a bit before I jump in but I hope to at some point.
@AndyKazama This is where I’m at. Don’t regret my day 1 OG PSVR purchase, but there were some ridiculous bundles within a year or so.
I will buy this probably around Black Friday 2024.
Hopefully there’ll be a new Astrobot by then!!!
Price is pretty much what I expected and its not bad at all, especially considering its got better specs than the new Meta quest pro which costs more than double.
Also wouldn't be surprised that the participating retailers price it slightly lower.
Not shocked. Pre orders open on my bday. That's my justification lol
@AdamNovice I'm hoping they'll do what they did with the first PSVR and tour it around the world. VRs a tricky one to show to people through videos, it has to be tried first-hand to really see if it's worth it.

@thefourfoldroot1 I mean you dont even have much to play on your 600€ device since Sony doesnt even offer bc
It's too expensive. Sony should provide PC support.
Day one for me! Price is reasonable given the tech included. really looking forward to it and think Sony should be commended for continuing to drive the VR competitive landscape forward.
This should of been a state of play or cooler announcement to hype it up. Expensive but I didn't jump in on the first vr and this does sound pretty amazing.
It's a little more than I thought - I thought it would match the PS5's price - but I am still interested, but they need to convince me. Half Life Alyx would go a long way to doing that.
@IonMagi
The launch line up is better than many historic consoles. I remember ps2 and 3 in particular being dead (and no, obviously I am not counting the old ps1 and ps2 games I could still play in my older consoles. BC isn’t what I’ve ever bought a new device for).
And, particularly here, I’ve got no desire to play games that don’t make use of the tech anyway.
I'm surprised they gave PSVR2 just a blog post, sure there is that rumour about the cancelled Playstation Showcase which is pretty much almost certainly true at this point but I thought Sony would've at least given PSVR2 a State of Play if a showcase was off the table.
Well 600€, in some parts of Europe is near minimum wage. I will wait to see if games i want to play become available. Will we get "free" VR2 games for extra/premium tier of PS Plus?
@IonMagi Gabe Newell isn't a fan of PlayStation that's well known, but I'm sure some kind of deal will be made down the line. PSVR already has a strong launch lineup though so it's of no great concern.
$600 for the headset and Call of the Mountain is expensive but not insanity. I hope there's an Astro VR game in the works, because that will be the system seller for me.
I can’t believe what I’m seeing in the early comments, people actually somehow justifying the abysmal price of this thing. If this was standalone sure fine, that’s not bad. But it literally costs more than the ps5 and you need that in order to play with ps vr 2. What an absolute disgrace this is, I don’t even want to think how much this will cost in Australia.
i guessed 500, so 530 close.
releasing in a VERY stacked game period, may hurt it a little
Launching on my birthday. I think i will wait this one out a while tho until there are a few more games released or the inevitable V2 model.
I would love one tho.
Big oof. Was thinking about getting this but need to think a lot harder now.
A reminder that the original psvr was $400 at launch. Then you had to buy the camera for like $50/60. Then the controllers were like $100. So it's about the same price as the first one while being 1000000x better
I have been holding off on buying an Edge controller as that would have to come out of any PSVR2 pot of gold I have to one side. Think I might push the button on the controller and worry about this later. Or hit up that credit card…
Nice to see another thread affirming my decision to block Ion Magi - stop giving their trolling oxygen by responding ppl!
It’ll be interesting how they tackle scalpers with this. I’ll try to pre order one for sure, hopefully from Amazon as it gives me time to save for it
I expected this price to be honest. It's a high-end product, and I'm sure even with such a steep price tag they will lose money on it.
Compared to PSVR1, I don't think it's actually that much more expensive? For the usable setup that is (with controllers and camera)

@AndyKazama Yep, i'm with you. Definitely waiting for a bundle in a year or so after release.
Launch price landed about where i expected after the recent economic issues. Its probably fair, but i cant justify it on day 1
Its eye-watering but Im still getting one day 1 if I can!
@IonMagi you do know you don't actually have to buy anything for BC. Just keep what you have, and it's not BC, it's just C. Works like a charm.
I really need to try it before I buy it this time. The last one made me sick even after short session training. Hopefully the added features to help with this do their job.
@GorosBat How much did you seriously expect to pay?
Im not personally buying it because it's out my budget just now with saving for a house but it's a high-end product.
Did you seriously think with the controllers it'd cost say, half the price of a PS5?
Some people are in coo coo land if they think it'd be $300-$400.
Its well in the expected price range for what you are getting.
It's a little more than I expected but I'm still okay with it.
The only real issue I have is the timing - There are a few games that I want that will also release in that window.
I might put in my pre-order, then wait until I'm closer to the date and cancel if needed.
Ouch! There was me half joking that it'd be similar to the PS3 with the "599 US Dollars!" and I am only $50 short.
I still would like to get one, but in an unfortunate predicament atm that I fractured my spine in 6 places whilst asleep and so on precautionary anti-seizure meds and explicitly told not to use my PSVR headset in case it triggers anything and same rule would apply to PSVR2 :/
Once that's hopefully ruled out though after further assessment, I'll probably be a muppet and pay the £530 for this new gen headset
@stvevan I think VR is probably aiming for a slightly different audience so i dont think it will be harmed too much by releasing then. It will definitely sell out the preorder allocation
@Perryg92 Oh man, that's terrible news. Hope you're alright and make a speedy recovery! 👍
That's a $600 vomit inducing machine for me.
I'll get Call of the Mountain when it eventually comes to PC VR
Can't wait. Day 1 (hopefully). Also, hopefully without pixel issues. My very first PSVR had stuck pixels right in the center.
Yowza. Would love to pre-order but that is a lot of money. Will stick with my OG PSVR and Quest for now.
@Perryg92 Crumbs, really sorry to hear your news. I hope you make a full recovery soon and can get back on your headset and enjoying everything you did before the accident 👍
That troll IonMagi got banned, never thought I'd see the day 😂
PSVR 2 finally starting to feel real! Can't wait. Still day 1 for me. I was thinking £499 but this will do.
Eh, at that price it will fail for sure. Maybe if that happens, they will focus on making a handheld instead of VR.
This is a pretty wild price in the current economic climate.
@Mauzuri It's cutting edge, to be fair. I get everything is crazy expensive right now, and the timing for a product like this may be extremely unfortunate, but you're getting an incredible piece of hardware here for the money.
I love my VR but can't justify that price especially with no b/c. It would mean having two lots of headsets and controllers which take up space. Sony's marketing team since the ps5 has been abysmal how there was not a showcase with this news in is beyond me.
I would love this but the price is too high to gamble that there will be enough games to justify. I love VR 1 but neck injury often ends up a problem with the weight of it that I don’t use enough to say that’s a good price.
Do we know if it can play original VR games yet?
Called it. I'll wait for a significant price drop. I might bite at the $300 mark during a black Friday deal in a few years. That'll give them time to prove support and release more than tech demos.
@elvisfan1 Confirmed that it cannot.
There's talk of a few devs porting their titles though, hopefully that'll be for a small fee at worst rather than buying again.
The price is about what I expected to be honest, it's going to be tough selling an add on for more than the console. I still think it will sell less than psvr1
@Gloamin And Metaquest 2 with a game costs about £400.
To play PSVR2, you need at least £1k of hardware if you buy the Digital only PS5 which only increases if you prefer to own Discs.
Its not 'just' €550 as you need to own a PS5 too to play those select 'few' VR titles that maybe interest you a year to enjoy.
Its not 'too' bad I guess in comparison to buying a high end PC and a HTC Vive Pro 2 for example, but the Meta Quest 2 can be used as a standalone product or 'tethered' to a PC for less money.
Each to their own of course and some will find this acceptable to pay for the 'unique' experience of VR on console, others will see it as far too much for what is nothing more than an expensive 'gimmick' that can make you feel sick, as well as potentially hazardous to health. If you can't see or hear what's around you, you can trip on pets, kids etc, smash stuff around you as you swing your arms around etc - even if you 'start' in a safish place, doesn't mean it stays safe with kids/pets etc.
All I am saying is that VR and the price is going to be a different thing to different people. £500 is a LOT of money for someone and nothing but change for another too so even if they both want to experience VR, someone who can afford to throw £500 at it will think its cheap and another may think its way too much for a peripheral...
@Deadlyblack yeah, there is no way i can afford this at launch, and the fact that i'm saving up for a sony OLED currently makes it a no no, i will get it when it starts to get cheaper or expecting new revision model which happened with PSVR
Ion Maggi can't accept the fact that Sony is moving the industry forward and still taking some risks. Microsoft is nowhere near this again.
VR not for me to buy. I'd like to rent and play for a weekend or so, but still to gimmicky for me to own.
@Rob_230 @TwoPieceTanookiSuit cheers both for your kind words.
Hopefully in Feb/March 2023 i'll be back to normal and gushing in the comments section at how amazing Horizon: Call of the Mountain is
HOLY MOTHER. Thats really expensive but I don't care. That just means its truly a next gen system. Gonna get the whole thing day 1! SO EXCITED!!! Just praying to all that is holy that I can secure a pre-order!
@GorosBat
Then don’t buy it or wait for a price drop? You aren’t entitled to cheap stuff you know. Have you paid attention to how much things cost to make and ship these days?
If you are disappointed with the price that is understandable, but to say the price of a luxury entertainment product is a “disgrace” is rather comical. This isn’t medicine.
I really want one but my bank account laughs at me saying no chance pal. If it becomes a must have with plenty of must have games then I think I'll have to save for one, best get filling that jar. Best of luck getting one gamers
Looks like my on-again off-again relationship with saving money is headed for off-again.
£529.99 was thinking maybe £400 but this will do. Preorder hopefully when they go live on the 15th I really hope retailers don't break the date any earlier.
@huyi Save up for that OLED! It's worth the upgrade.
A little more expensive than I was hoping for, but I think a good portion of that price is definitely due to the controllers having to be bundled in this time unlike PSVR 1 with the Move controllers.
900aud and 80aud per game meh, we getting ripped in Australia
I would have really liked to have given this a run, but the overriding factor for me is the fact I suffer terrible motion sickness. Price is pretty much as expected, this kind of technology isn’t going to come cheap, but I do think that anyone buying this is definitely going to understand where the money has gone once they put it to use. Some of the tech that Sony has used here sounds pretty insane!
Absolutely effing not. I thought $300 or even $400 was too much but possibly worth it. No way.
Waste of resources. Sony could have and shoud have invested all that effort into the PS5. Not that frigging gimmick.
Watch that thing fail and break Sony's bones. We could witness a financial PS3 debacle. Sony is out of touch with that nonsense.
@Boucho11 you need to sign in with your psn so hopefully that will go some way to stopping them
Woof! Hard pass on that price.
@Deadlyblack dam straight it is, I can't wait to get it 🥰👍👍
Wonder if the "stereo headphones" are the 3D Wireless PS5 Headset or just a pair of standard in ear headphones?
That is absolutely getting preordered, it looks a big step up from the original and if many current PSVR games are getting ported then even better
HOLEY MOLEY that price. Think I'll just pick up a PS Vr now and play around with that, no way I'm spending that money for a peripheral anytime soon!
Well I’m not interested.
Considering I usually buy games at 30 dollars or less I could actually buy 20 or so games at that price.
Price isn't too bad but it's still the cable that puts me off, think I'll wait a while on this one
Put Half-Life Alyx on it and I'll buy it.
I bought the OG PSVR move + camera bundle for $499 and 3 games on launch day. So this is nothing. Grabbing the Horizion bundle and the dark pictures game. Looking forward to the upgraded tech.
Looks like Ion Magi got mod wrecked. LMAO!!!
@KaijuKaiser
That’s the thing. I could buy one.
But considering my love-hate relationship with VR in general I would rather buy a crap ton of regular PS5 games over the next few years instead.
Being financially responsible is always about choices. The price made the choice for me.
Not to say it’s a bad deal. For the price that’s a lot of tech.
But I barely have enough time to game on my PS5 and Switch as it is. Adding another platform isn’t in my best interest especially at that price.
Hell I could build another gaming rig right now. But I’m not because I wouldn’t use it enough to justify the expense.
@JAMes-BroWWWn
Pushing the future is not wasted money. I’d prefer them to spend their money here than just on subsidising subscriptions, which seems to be the alternative option.
But that’s me, I’m in a fortunate financial position in some ways.
Then again I don’t really know why I’m commenting to you, anyone who calls VR a gimmick has clearly never used it.
@OrtadragoonX
Yeah, do you know how many paper clips I could buy for this amount!!!
Point being, flat games and VR games are not the same thing unless you consider VR as adding nothing to the experience.
And if you think that then you weren’t considering it anyway.
15th it is. Hope they've got scalper protection in place
Probably wont get this day one, will pick it up at some point though, enjoyed my time with vr but the camera and move were just holding it back, hopefully all those things will be better with this one,bit pricey but it is high end so wasnt going to be cheap.
@elvisfan1 it cannot. So no "savings" by skipping PSVR1, you just miss out on those games instead. Rumor is some games will get ported to PSVR2, though.
Kids, you can have the electric on for a week or we can spend the same amount on a console, a vr headset and games you’ll never touch after a week. Sony are aware of the financial and cost of living crisis going on around the world? Aren’t they?
Is Nello Neighbor actually Hello Neighbor? Man, that game was so terrible, how is it spawning a franchise? This'll be like the third or fourth game!
@JudgeDredd
Yeah, that is annoying, bloody economy and semi conductor shortages made this cross gen period horrendously long. Nothing current gen has been released yet, not until PSVR2 it seems. When Unreal 5 is common and last gen no longer a consideration non VR PS5 can be next gen.
Hell yes. Getting my preorder in straight away!!! Can’t wait!!!
I'm disappointed, but not all that surprised, I was thinking £50 less than the console, not £75 more, but this thing will still sell
I don't yet have a PS5, or £1010, so I will pickup both after a price drop or two. I have plenty to play right now without needing a PS5 or Series X until I can comfortably afford one.
Actually cheaper than I thought. I am so in. I love VR so much. Gimme the next Firewall!
I guess nobody from EU vists this site.
$ & £ only WTF
As for PSVR2 it's DOA @ that price
@Grumblevolcano I showed up on PS and saw all of these articles and assumed there HAD been a video presentation for PSVR2. How do you drop a release date, price, and games w/o a Showcase or SoP or something w/ 48 hours notice? Today is Wednesday, they could have announced something Monday. So so weird.🤷
Price seems right. I bought my PSVR for $199 bundled w/ GT Sport after version 2 was announced, so I'll wait to buy version 2 the time. Someone else said BF 2024, sounds about right.
@thefourfoldroot1
VR is nice sometimes but to me it doesn’t add enough to drop 550 bucks on it. Because there are times when it gives me headaches. A friend of mine had the first VR and I played around with it a good bit.
I think it’s a fair price for the tech. But that’s a lot of money for someone like me who isn’t entirely sold on it. I’ll admit that traditional games satisfy me.
Im the same way with motion controls. I like it sometimes. But not enough to spend a ton of money on it.
@Gloamin they were just so damn negative, about everything! Poogie deserved better
This doesn't seem particularly steep to me. So it's more a matter of beating out the bots. Not optimistic on that front but we shall see.
Looks intriguing but there might be just a handful games that I might be interested in. Which was the very same reason why I didn't get the first PSVR. Need more AAA killer games that I would not be able to resist.
I am so happy I saved up for this. This will give me stupid amounts of joy
$550 for a system with even less games than the PS5. What a bargain.
I was expecting it to be that price and psvr2 is launching on February 22 2023 for 549$ is expected.february is looking pack.wow.word up son
@theGoodChap
I agree with that. It’s a luxury item. And considering the tech it’s not actually a terrible price.
But even with the economic factors at play, a lot of fence sitters like myself probably won’t be getting it.
Anything I buy (Besides necessities) I have to justify it to myself. And that’s based on the number of hours I plan on playing it.
I just don’t think I would enjoy it or use it enough to spend 550 dollars on it. I suspect many will be in the same boat.
Which to be fair is exactly how I felt about the original PS VR after using my buddy’s set for a while. It was neat. But I couldn’t justify getting one of my own.
As for the Dualsense Edge, I do feel like that controller is overpriced. Sony could have made it cheaper had they removed some functions that “pro” gamers don’t need. Like the adaptive triggers and the motion inputs. And added two more back buttons.
They turned the Dualsense into a semi Pro controller. That was the wrong way to go about it. They should have built from the ground up as a pro gamer controller. And that would have involved taking some basic Dualsense features out because they aren’t needed for “pro” play.
This is priced right in the Meta Quest 2 category (that is a POS) with Specs that rival $999 Valve Index
Always wanted an Index. But way out of my price point.
If Sony were smart they would make it PC+PS5 compatible. They would take the PC market at that price.
@OrtadragoonX
Fair enough. 15 years ago I was completely satisfied by flat games too. But there is only so far they can go. I was pretty much washed out with gaming until I tried VR (a better model than you admittedly, not “one of the first”).
If you'd have asked me a few weeks ago how much I thought the VR2 would cost, I would have said £400. HOWEVER! Since Sony charge £210 for the new controller, I upped that to £600 so I wasn't far off the mark. The specs on this headset are leagues ahead of some available on PC for way more money.
Well there goes my hopes of getting it at launch.
@Agramonte I would love this VR to be PC compatible. The thought of using the eye tracking in a virtual production environment in UE5 is tantalising. The only problem is, though my old RTX 2070 had a USB C port, my current 3070 does not (I'm not sure if it could simply be jacked into any old port in the mobo too). Still, I live in hope.
@thefourfoldroot1
For me it comes down to the type of games I usually play.
I’m a very much a traditional gamer with traditional tastes in both multiplayer and single player titles.
I play mostly JRPGs, Action-Adventure, platformers, fighting games, and FPS multiplayer shooters.
The one genre I commonly play where I see VR being a game changer are platformers. I played Astro Rescue League for a bit in VR and that was brilliant. The VR greatly enhanced the fun of the game.
But I also still find the traditional 3D flat platformer plenty fun so long as the game is well designed. But for the other genres I play I don’t really see where VR could really enhance them much. If anything I feel like a multiplayer competitive shooter would be worse in VR than as a traditional game.
@OrtadragoonX
Yes, Astro bot ruined non VR platformers for me, I see what you mean there. But Resi7 VR ruined any horror game for me in the same way. Racing and flight games also significantly better in VR. Plus all shooters (unless winning is more important to a person than the gun and skill element of accurate shooting).
I admit my favourite series of all time may have trouble in VR (Yakuza), but most genres are just objectively better in VR (actually, just a straight copy of Yakuza, top down, but with motion controls for pool, batting etc, should be better).
@thefourfoldroot1
Traditional Yakuza would probably work but now that they’ve went to turn based JRPG style gameplay I don’t see where the VR would enhance it.
Flight games definitely seem tailor made for VR. If I had a rig I would love to try something like DCS in VR. A YouTuber I follow says it completely changes the way you play the game although the implementation in that title still needs some work.
@KaijuKaiser its worth its money tech wise. but 550 kinda misleading when you need a 500 ps5 too.
So VR and the new elite controller and Swedish tax, we end up at €1000……
@Worlock_ed
Yeah I also lost that going from a 2080 to a 30 series. My understanding is - it was simply an extra USB-C for convenience.
My POS Samsung HMD Odyssey+ is USB-3.0 so never used the port for the life of the card.
If Sony lets me upgrade both my PC+PS5 with 1 purchase this would be an amazing deal.
Hmm think I will just wait and see how things pan out in terms of support for it
@stvevan yeh but with the competition you kinda need a £1200 PC so not really.
Yes the Q2 is £130 cheaper at £399, but when you lump in a £1200 PC to give you comparable power/performance that becomes £1599 total which is a lot more then the Playstation £1010 total.
Its a lot of money, but its still the cheapest way in to mid-tier VR.
Such a contrast in opinion on the comments of the playstation blog and here.
Maybe you are all made of money and seem to think this is reasonable.
My Opinion is they have priced themselves out of the entire market, for a good early adoption rate.
Its to much, you cannot sell a VR headset which needs a PS5 aswel at a price which is higher than the system you need. Thats ridiculous.
You cant compare it to anything to do with the meta quest because that is a all in one headset, no need for anything else.
No free game, like vr worlds, no backwards compatability. I understand the world has gone made and everything is going up. But for the majority of us, our wages haven't gone up so to think that they can sell this at a higher price than a PS5, is insanity.
I was expecting at most the same price at the high end. But at least cheaper.
Ill be waiting for more game selection and cheaper price point. Really cannot justify spending more than a ps5 costs.
@TwoPieceTanookiSuit he does not. He doesn't even game on playstation. Just attacks Sony and always praises Nintendo and MS when he makes a comparison. It's not just negativity or criticism. He downright admitted he wants Sony to go bankrupt. It's as extreme as it gets.
On topic: I'll preo-order on the 15th. The price is completely justifiable for what we get and I'm glad to hear that many games are getting free upgrades. Here's hoping more feel the pressure to follow suit.
Looking forward to seeing some standout games. More of the same ain't gonna cut it.
You can argue about whether or not the price is right for the tech that you are getting, but for me the question is why has Sony gone down the premium, high cost road? They must know there is no chance of VR cutting through into the mainstream at this price. No chance of this outselling PSVR 1 so I'm really not sure what they are trying to achieve. Seems a waste of resources to me.
Ouch… that’s expensive.
@Ooccoo_Jr
As long as they can make a profit on the program overall it’ll be considered a win for them.
@Gloamin Quality is relative - having a higher resolution doesn't necessarily mean its a 'better' product for example. Its difficult to compare and/or contrast at the moment so we don't know yet whether the difference in costs translate to a 'better' experience or not.
A PS4 Pro doesn't necessarily provide a 'better' quality gaming experience - especially less so if you have a 1080p Screen because any advantage of higher resolutions is negated. Its the same with Series S and Series X - both play the same games and provide the 'same' experience on a 1080p screen. The difference in resolution or graphical settings is reduced, if not negated by reducing the image down to fit into a 1920x1080p container and if you don't get 120fps modes, that doesn't matter because your TV only supports up to 60fps anyway - so the extra £200 to get a 'better' quality image is nullified.
Of course, if you have a 4k TV, the difference between 1440p and native 4k is more obvious, but still doesn't really change the 'quality' of the Game-play, the story, the writing, the setting etc, its still the 'same' game just presented at a slightly lower resolution. From what I have seen, PSVR 2 games don't look to have the same Visual Quality as the equivalent 'flat screen' traditional style games. Call of the Mountain looks like it has more in common with the PS4 version of Forbidden West - although I will admit I'm basing that on video trailers more than personal experience.
I doubt Beat Sabre or Superhot VR or whatever 'multi-platform' VR releases will be all that different to play on PSVR2 compared to Metaquest. Of course, PSVR 2 will have exclusives too and these will no doubt be cited as quality reasons to 'buy' PSVR2. It makes sense if you have a PS5, but if you want to explore VR, Metaquest 2 probably provides a much more varied and 'better' VR experience overall for less money and there is also a wider choice of headsets, costs etc to suit a variety of budgets etc.
As I alluded to, Metaquest is a Standalone unit - maybe not the 'best' experience to game that way, but still offers some advantages over PSVR2. It can be connected to PC's to boost performance etc and whilst it may have a 'lower' resolution screen, could play games with much higher visual quality settings (inc RT) and much better performance so is that 'better' quality than a higher res image but lower quality settings and/or lower frame rates? Its like XB1X may have a higher resolution than Series S but the visual settings are much lower, less objects/details in the world, worse shadows etc and at 30fps vs 60fps+ on Series S. I know I'd rather play on Series S myself than XB1X
@dimi But yeah what does that matter? I see phones of more then €1500 should they stop making those? It sucks but for some stuff you have to safe its still a niche product.
For that price I'm absolutelly not interested. Most of PSVR titles are for casual gamers. Not for me.
@rjejr well the rumor is they're not doing any showcases that could show off them paying to have exclusive titles as they're currently making the case for why Microsoft shouldn't be allowed to do that.
@Bez87
Meta Quest 2 is not an all in one headset for every game.
If you want to play AAA games like Alyx or LoneEcho2 you need to connect the headset via USB-C or AirLink to your PC.
And it is more cheaply made and feeling than my Samsung headset. And that is a low bar.
I expect the price to go down to attract a wider audience. This is for the enthusiasts, like some of us here.
For the hardware you're getting this price isn't bad. Yea the barrier of entry is high. That's why VR remains so niche. Meta is taking the huge losses trying to mainstream it with their Quest headsets. For now it's still very costly for higher end experiences. If you already have a PS5 and don't have a PC this is a fantastic buy in my opinion as a VR enthusiast. I personally will stick with the Quest line as I like the stand alone store in addition to the PCVR use. I expect to see the Sony VR titles come to PC eventually as that's their plan with other first party releases. Hardware looks great for the price though.
Hard pass on this one. There has to be an exciting suite of software to justify getting this down the road even. That just simply doesn't exist and aside from a few standout titles, hasn't existed in the entirety of the medium. It's niche and gimmicky, and having a new toy is enough for some people to waste the expendable income. For me that 550 price tag nowhere near represents the value it would bring.
However, given how slow this generation has taken to even shell out an exclusive title for the PS5, I imagine the wait for any meaningful, non-short gimmick titles trying to cash in on popular IPs in VR will be still fairly far off in the future if ever.
VR is and has been stuck in this flux of Nintendo WII "like" gimmickry for some time now. Hopefully it becomes a truly viable medium in the future, beyond the "enthusiasts."
@theGoodChap the problem you have got and its a huge problem, esp with sonys track record. Is if you price yourself out of the general consumer then you are dead in the water and then support will not keep going for this product.
There isn't big enough first party support, in my opinion.
You have to look at the bigger picture, if its a low attach rate others won't bother developing. But we will see.
So pricey, didn't expect it to be a luxury item. But I guess the price is still fair.
I was expecting $400-$450 but considering the rapid inflation over the past year… I suppose this makes sense.
@Agramonte but thats not the selling point of the meta quest 2.
The whole selling point and why so many were jumping on it is, the general consumer. My uncles have one and use it, I know so many people and heard so many people buying one without a expensive pc. Because it can function on its own without anything. Its an added bonus that you can buy a decent pc and play triple a games on top of it. At a cheaper price point.
So not us who are harcore fans but general consumers will look at this and think meta quest 2 or psvr2, then realise 1 is all in one with a added function of hooking it up to a pc or a higher priced item which needs a high price game console to work.
@jmoss I don't think the price is that much of an issue, really. Expensive things perform well even in this economy. Apple has shown that you charge any amount of money for your product and people will buy it as long as they think it's cool, be that iphone, ipad, macbook, apple watch, etc. Same with graphics cards these days and so many other things.
Don't know if it's been mentioned, but they are sending out 'you have been selected' type emails for preorders. No idea how select it is, but check your email if you are after one.
@KundaliniRising333 PSVR games definitely skewed gimmicky but much of this had to do with the aging move controllers. They were incredibly limiting. It'll be interesting to see what devs do with more capable controllers. Above and beyond the spec upgrades, this has got to be the most significant change coming to PSVR2 imo.
Though I can see why none of this justifies the expenditure in today's economy, I'm still really excited to see what can come out of VR what with Sony clearly taking it more serious with this iteration.
Wow...that price. More than the console!
I'm somewhat relieved though. After some of the fear that the thing would cost a LOT more than the console, $550 isn't nearly as bad as I thought it might have been. I don't think I'm up for preorders at that price point, but it's not so high I'm just going to hysterically laugh while I cry and write off VR forever. I may end up splurging eventually, but I probably won't fight the preorder mobs in 2 weeks to drop 550.
They hype has kind of vanished for me for now though, I may do it like PSVR1 and wait a year or two, see if they discount it, see what games are there for it. Assuming inventory ever keeps up from scalpers.
Seems like the wrong time to be focussing on this tbh.
I’d have much preferred it if they invested these funds into making some new, PS5-only games.
@Marquez So much this - every time you feed the troll he opens his mouth.
This seems about right for the tech being provided and not far of what I'd predicted. Id jump right in but unfortunately I cant use VR and I'm pretty upset about it!
@naruball I was glad to finally see their account get banned. Criticism is a good thing, but that person would only ever criticise and flame and was always suspiciously quiet for positive news. That sort of behaviour is obnoxious and deserves to be called out. I just hope Ion doesn't create alt accounts and start spamming again or I might just leave this website for good.
Anyways, on topic again: I'm not really a VR guy, but I can admire Sony for sticking with their guns and putting their best foot forward with VR2 - the tech is great even if the price is a bit too steep for the vast majority.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo0FbOcjaLk Interesting take from Hoeg....
@naruball I'm not sure if the price will really drop. Depends on if inflation and components cost return to some semblance of sanity and/or if the product crashes and burns compared to sales expectations. The first wave will sell fine to the enthusiasts, but what happens in a year or so will determine that.
I do think consumer spending is about to plummet as a whole, and I think consumer spending has already plummeted more than many admit. Console so far have been immune but even TVs took a dive and only finally sold because they heavily discounted them. But a lot of spending so far has been spend on credit card debt that's been piling up badly, as interest rates go extreme, and at some point, not too far away, there's going to be reckoning. (Which is the intent of the rising interest to begin with.) Consumer product demand will collapse, but I still can't figure out consoles....in the past it's been recession-proof.
Wow that actuality a fantastic price. I was definitely expecting it to be in $650-700 considering that the closest competitor in terms of raw specs of the headset. Something like a Vive Pro eye or even the the new Vive Pro 2... which are $799 for the HMD alone.
PLEASE SONY!!!! ALLOW THIS TO BE USEABLE ON PC!!!
This could be easily be the headset that bring the next generation of vr for us PC user as well.
Nana na na. Hey hey hey goodbye 🤣

Reading these comments, I really feel like copy pasting my comment from the PS5 Price Rise article. Cool if you willing to throw that much money away I guess.
This is about the price I expected. Considering the tech and the fact that it has both controllers it's about right. The PSVR1 didn't have the Moves bundled in and they were an extra cost.
Has anyone had any kind of verification that they've registered on the store? I've done it (UK) but haven't had any kind of confirmation.
@Balosi
No email for me. I can only presume it’s random. They should have locked it to people who have spent a certain number of hours with PSVR or a few platinum trophies with VR only games, but….
@Mauzuri You're delusional if you really thought that a headset that can rival with the best of 'em on PC(within the €800-1500 price range ofcourse) and even surpass them at points, would be priced $/€200-300. That's impossible with this kind of high-end tech. I also hoped it would be €100 less, but tbh this is a bargain already for what you get. VR enthousiasts like myself want the best that's possible for PSVR 2 without having to shelf out €1000-1500 like on PC. This thing is not for every once-in-a-while usage, i will play the rest of PS5's lifecycle with this damn thing mounted to my face, period! VR already killed flat gaming by a large chunk for me personally.
I'd set aside 700 for this so I'm pleasantly surprised. Definately pre-ordering when available.
Ouch! Love VR and all things VR. Can’t ever get enough.
PS5’s are still difficult to get. Can’t imagine PSVR2 will be easy either. Add the two together with accessories and you basically have a Quest Pro…hmmmm
@Bez87
And you have people like my Cousin's Husband who calls me 3 days after Christmas asking me how to play Dirt Rally 2.O on his new $499 Meta Quest 2
Short Answer - You need a Gaming PC. And just ends up returned to Amazon.
For that VR "Consumer" a PS5+PSVR2 is more price friendly than a Meta Quest 2+Gaming PC. Those are the options.
Would love to experience some VR on PlayStation just for me none of the games so far are of any interest. If the next F1 is full VR compatible I'll snap one up on a heartbeat. Add a full VR Ace Combat and a decent GT game (7 was pants) update to Assetto Corsa with some other formally PC only racing games then I'll be in heaven.
Bought the first PSVR day one and have regretted it. Not that I haven't had some fun playing it, but I've been limited on what I can handle playing and how long each session can be without filling sick. So I'll definitely be passing on this one unless I can get it super cheap way down the road.
Was expecting around $650-$750, so mildly surprised at this price point. Gonna wait until it's been out a while and some sales, but certainly a bit more interested now, hopefully most of my VR1 library gets a free/discounted upgrade.
@Bez87 I'm with you Bez. It hasn't necessarily priced me out if the kit is good and the games are my bag but Christmas presents for the kids?
Nope sorry I would rather buy a steam deck or even a full phat console for them.
@LP09 ...But with haptics and actual comfort when wearing! Silliness aside, you're dead right. If you're into VR and still haven't got a PS5 it's a very steep hill you have to climb. I got a PS5 as soon as i could, i had to turn to a online-marketplace to even get a chance and paid €650 for the discversion. Have one for 1,5 year now, primarily for not having to spend €1500 all at once when PSVR 2 releases. I feel sorry for those who will, glad i'm already one foot in!
@Ken_Kaniff
Really sorry to hear that. Hopefully some of the haptic tech can ease things a little for those who have severe motion sickness issues. Might have to wait for a future firmware update or batch of games though.

@naruball The Apple comparison is fair, however Apple products are a lifestyle item owned predominantly by working people. Not every Apple owner has the latest version and they are usually conned into a subscription to pay off the phone at £60 per month for 2 years - then returned for the next one. You WILL use the iPhone for the next 2 years multiple times a day. So you can mentally absorb the cost when you factor in calls/texts/internet etc.
I loved PSVR a ton but don't use it anymore. It was relatively expensive versus the time it's been used. I will give psvr2 a miss for now but keep an envious eye over everyone who owns it.
@Gloamin Quality of experience will mean something different to everyone and not needing to be connected to fixed box may well be a Quality feature to them. The games could run much faster and with 'higher' visual settings - thanks to DLSS 3. If you have to hit 90fps (min) that doesn't allow much time to the GPU to render a frame so having a higher resolution screen isn't any better than playing a game on much higher spec hardware connected to a 1080p monitor at double the frame rate
PSVR2 isn't compatible with PSVR so all those who invested in the first, now lose their library but there is an extensive library on PC and you can spend as much as a PS5 and PSVR2 combined to have a 'better' quality headset with a much larger library - spend around the same as PSVR2 for 'better' spec headsets or spend less for standalone devices and or cheaper spec but still access to the 'SAME' games, same experiences, same story/plot/game-play...
Quality can depend on the hardware and whilst Metaquest may not have the specs etc, its a 'better' value and bigger library all-in-one VR device for £400 - with a game - yet you'd need to spend at least £1000+ to get into PSVR2 because you need to buy a PS5 and Game too - with MetaQuest, you don't need to buy anything else...
I could probably 'match' or beat what PSVR2 will offer for years for the same cost and my 3080ti PC so is this really going to help push VR into more mainstream gaming, where Devs/Publishers willing and able to spend AAA budgets making the expansive, rich games that sell 'millions' or more a 'niche/fanboy' that a very small percentage have and so limits the amount of sales, and therefore desire to make AAA budget games for...
Its not helped by annoying some of those who may of invested in PSVR and have a 'decent' library to have to start all again - and at ~$600+ (headset/game assuming they have a PS5 already) that's a LOT to ask...
Time will tell but what someone values as being worth 'more' (like resolution) another may value other aspects as worth more, better 'quality' - like game Library, untethered experience etc. Its the same with TV's too - some are more than happy with their 10yr old HD TV and get the SAME enjoyment, same 'games', same stories etc as someone with a 'better quality' brand new 4k HDR OLED TV. Is Switch a Low Quality product with games no-one wants to play because its specs aren't on the same 'quality' level as a PS5. Maybe they would prefer to play Doom at its 'quality' wherever they want that makes it a better quality experience to them than having to be tethered to specific place and can't just play when you want like you can with Switch so which offers a better quality experience in that situation??
Any reports of if the this headset — with its foveat rendering & headset haptics — actually reduce motion sickness? I'd get it Day 1 just like I did PSVR, but not if the motion sickness is the same...
Look at it this way. Their are people who spend over a grand for a new iPhone. This is cheap in comparison.
I’m going to be on a cruise ship on 11/15, hope the s***nernet package can hold up lol
I'm curious to know if Sony are making as loss selling at this price point. That's generally the case with consoles with Phil Spencer recently suggesting Microsoft subsidize $150-$200 per Series X. If they are making a loss then this is simply the current state of production costs in tech. If they aren't then shame on them as software should make up for the loss long term.
Impossible to buy in South America (or at least specifically in my country), sadly. That's like 4 months of minimum wage.
No thanks.
VR is still extremely niche and may never go full mainstream. None of the VR stuff has ever interested me and nothing does at this launch either.
Maybe someday there will be that killer app.
This is actually a massive risk, going in so hard on something so few want. If it does pay off, it'll pay off big, but I can't see it working at that price, especially with the PS5 requirement too.
It'll be interesting to observe either way. Not sure what outcome I'm hoping for really. I'm just not interested in wearing a helmet and having to set up a load of stuff when I want to chill out with a game. Until vr sets are like normal glasses I'm fine with steering clear.
@bpomber Really, your mind has to adjust to it for some time. I got really bad motionsickness from Scavengers Odyssey after buying PSVR, but persisted and payed attention of a game's comfort settings and the motion-heaviness of certain VR games. After 3-6 months i knew exactly how to adjust the settings to my preference and was able to ignore comfort options regardless the game. Never felt any discomfort since and that's close to five years ago now. Gaining your 'VR-legs' means understanding the tech on a deeper layer, 'VR-conciousness' if you will. Not sure how to call it exactly but i can't feel sensations of motion anymore in VR. Like the first Rush of Blood sessions where you felt the decending cart in your stomache. That was fun, but it's related to being prone to motionsickness. I can do barrelrolls in NMS for hours on straight or play Wipeout Omega, no comfort enabled, all night long like i have done nothing else since birth. Tying my shoelaces is harder. Tell that to the VR noob that had to lay down flat a day after playing Scavengers Odd, he wouldn't have believed it.. Amateur psychology mode off. Conclusion: Resistance to getting sick of VR can be learned/trained.
@jmoss But MS doesn't even have an Xbox VR do they?
Oh well whatever, I should have stopped reading at "rumour". 😂
thx
If it had backwards compatibility I'd be pre-ordering for sure, but at this price and the current lineup I'll probably wait it out for a year or so.
@TrickyDicky99 Well yeah... Sony is definitely subdizing the price heavily. But how much is the question?
And it will be compatible with PC... Just not in a way that Sony could actually benefit from.
I was expecting the price range between $400-450 but $550 is a bit pricey and it cost more then the physical PS5 wth? I’m sure the tech is worth it but gee wee $550 tho?.
Have they said anything about blu-ray 3D support yet?
@Trousersnake Maybe resistance to getting sick from VR can be learned/trained, but to be honest, I'm not willing to put in that work. I had a PSVR for over a year and, putting the sickness aside, I just didn't find it that fun. I much prefer traditional controller/TV gaming.
Ouch. I guess I'm not that surprised at the price but it's enough to make me think hard about getting it day 1. I don't think it's outrageous for the spec, though.
On the face of it the Pico 4 looks a better deal if you've got a decent PC and have your PC in plenty of space. I'm not convinced it would give me a better experience on my lowly RTX 3060ti setup in my small office. I'm not fussed about being tethered.
I guess I'll see how skint I am next year!
I have next to no interest in VR and prices like these make sure it stays that way. I can’t even think of 1 VR game I’d consider dropping that kind of money for.
I just don't understand. I thought the whole point of console gaming was to provide a way for gamers to play without having to spend the astronomical prices PC gamers need to pay to build their custom rigs. I guess those days are long over. Like, who is this for? This is basically only for the upper-class who make 6-figure incomes. I guess the rest of us can go screw ourselves apparently.
@TwoPieceTanookiSuit completely fair reason to be negative about it, it's a massive cost with little benefit, more likely a forced upgrade for any who wish to enjoy the future VR titles. Sony reintroduced BC with the main console, so deliberately building it out of the peripheral also is a negative.
@B_Lindz Maybe not 6 figure necessarily, but that's basically Sony's MO these days and they're not being shy about it. For better or worse, they're gradually positioning PS as they do their Bravia TVs and audio equipment. A "premium" option for a pricier consumer than their competitors. It is what it is. And it's at least consistent with their company history overall.
@AndyKazama same here. Preordered psvr. A year later I found the same pack at 50% off, new, in a regular shop (xmas sales). I can wait.
I feel like there ought to be laws against peripherals costing more than the unit they run on, but I cannot imagine regulating anything like that is feasible.
@thefourfoldroot1 Yea it's not that I can't play it at all. I just can't play for much more than an hour at a time. Plus the damn thing takes a lot of effort to calibrate and get to work properly just to play.
@TrickyDicky99 AHH yes the mighty Pico 4. Sure it's got a slightly higher resolution but other than that its a nice bit of kit appropriately priced.
I'm not even going to start with the quest.
Here's why the pico is cheaper than the vr2:
LCD panel Vs OLED on the psvr 2
Lower frame rate.
No HDR
Lower field of view
No eye tracking
No headset feedback.
A $150 price difference doesn't seem so bad now right?
$600 after tax for no backwards compatibility with PSVR1, a new exclusive every, what...18 months...until Sony gets bored and stops supporting it, and a bunch of stuff that's already on Quest.
That's a galaxy sized no from me.
@Ken_Kaniff
Luckily no such calibration and tracking issues with PSVR2!
@Bionic-Spencer I suffer a lot from motion sickness when playing first person games on a traditional screen but, interestingly enough, I haven't experienced that in VR. Worth a try, then.
@Bez87 Comparing PSVR2 with Quest2 in stand-alone is like comparing a PS5 with a PS2 and saying, "oh, the PS2 is much cheaper and does pretty much the same stuff".
C'mon, mate. You do need an expensive PC to play anything comparable to what PSVR2 offers.
For everyone that thinks this is expensive, look at spec comparisons of the the current available VR headsets vs PSVR2. Quest 2 is 499, which meta just incresed from 399 a mo th or two ago. Valve's Index is 1k. For all that is has, this was way below what I believed it to be. I thought this was going to be 6-800. If you compare other headsets and the prices. This will be a pre-order for me if they include PCVR support.
@TrickyDicky99 you’d be surprised, the flash drive is what, a few dollars. Wi-Fi, a few cents along with the speakers. Battery again another few dollars. The processor is also a relatively cheap mobile chip.
It’s all nice as a package but it’s middling quality bits thrown together and your assuming because it has extra bells over the ps headset, overall it’s equal or more valuable.
Sure it has its points but over all its still a weaker system.
That’s no shame as it’s still good value but what you are doing is like comparing a mobile cpu and desktop cpu, see they have the same clock speed and assume they are just as powerful.
Removed - flaming/arguing
To be frank I've had a difficult time even getting my PS5 to justify its investment so far in terms of original, current-gen games (and even after waiting a full year to buy it). I've been looking forward to this, but that price point combined with an uneven opening selection of games support out of the gate (Half Life Alyx should absolutely have been targeted by Sony to support PSVR2!!!) makes it easy to pass on it, at least for the time being.
@AndyKazama If I do buy the PSVR2 at all, will def be waiting for a better deal with games bundled.
@GorosBat
I’m not sure why you are comparing the price of extremely inferior technology and saying the far superior tech is a “disgrace” for being more expensive. That’s a very weird take.
It wouldn’t even occur to me to make that comparison. It’s like asking why a PS5 is more expensive than a VITA.
Not sure about your “regional pricing” issue. Over here it’s £500 for the quest 2 with decent memory; on the high street it’s £480 for a disc PS5 and now £570 for this with game, so £1070. For you the same quest 2 is 780AU, whereas the PS5 is is just under 800AU and this 960 you say (not checking), so 1760AU. At current conversion this is actually £980
Only a quick conversion obviously, but it doesn’t seem like you’re getting a terrible deal in comparison is all I’m saying.
Of course, if you compare the price to a quest 2, or quest 1, or a hamburger, it might look high. But why would you do that?
I just hope enough Devs will deliver on visuals that actually made use of the hardware, because so far only horizon is a true step up. Everything else was either the same quality as psvr1 (of course higher Rez and so on) or on par with Roblox.
$550 is actually £480, not £530. What’s that about?
@The_Flapjack UK price includes VAT
@The_Flapjack £480 + 20% VAT = £576, so there's actually a slight discount, likely to factor in that the Tories keep tanking our economy so the basic cost of living has shot up, affecting affordability at a given price point.
So as someone that does most of my gaming on Xbox and PC and mostly comments on Pure Xbox. I do read this site a lot and don’t comment much cause i don’t want to start console war non sense. But i have owned every PS and around the 3-5 i use my PS for Sony exclusives. I love God of War, Horizon and Last of Us. Any one on here that wants to say those are better games than what is offered on PC and Xbox i really can’t deny it in most cases. I say all that to say i am buying PSVR2 for sure cause it’s other exclusive way to play on my PS and i think the price is mainly in line with what i expected. My guess was $500 but maybe due to inflation it jumped at the end, i don’t know. But i fully expect this to be fun and well made and something else to give me that only on PS feel. Again i do not buy 3rd party games on PS, thats what my series X and PC are for, for my play style and controller preference. So before i get attacked as Green Bandit with the Xbox Logo, just know i am here as a huge PS fan and can’t wait until November 8th for god of war. Going to be Epic!
@TrickyDicky99
I’m of the opinion that the original PSVR was a tester for the market. I didn’t need a load of AAA games; Astro, Resi7, Skyrim, and Wipeout made it worth the cost of admission alone. Then the likes of driveclub, rush of blood, Paper Beast, Iron Man, Blood and Truth, Beat Saber, Pistol Whipped, Eagle Flight, Falcon Age, etc, etc, as AA games were the icing on the cake. Then you have all the indies…
Hopefully this will take off with even more experiences like this, but given my limited available play time I don’t need too many. If I play 10-15 phenomenal games during its lifetime that’s more than I’ll play on flat PS5. I’m sure that’ll be no problem as the accurate tracking will easily make games even of last gen standards significantly better.
Sony would do well to create virtual concerts, virtual travel apps etc though, as certain aspects of VR have been extremely under-utilised.
@Green-Bandit
What a balanced view.
Xbox have done great to subsidise people’s gaming and make an ecosystem that is relatively cheap, a great boon in these times.
Sony are going a different way with this somewhat risky innovation that is quite expensive. It’s exactly the industry dynamic we should all hope for.
@thefourfoldroot1 Thank you so much for the reply. Wanted to let others know that all games and console brands should be appreciated for what they do best and what play styles they bring to the users. I do think your are right in saying Xbox hit a good business strategy around the cheaper Series s and GamePass for the more causal gamer. Just GP in General for PC and Series X is great value. Lots of people on this site downplayed GP, but the truth is with the ABK court findings you are seeing Sony leadership saying how hard it is to compete with GP and how much a impact certain games going to the service can shift the market. But you said it best by dynamic industry services. This is the shake up we all should be excited for. One that makes Sony work harder, and Sony is making Microsoft work hard by their excellent exclusives. God of War is just stunning looking and the reviews are just insane. This is what we as gamers should want to see. I have said i game and mainly comment on Xbox. Honest to God reason is i like the controller better for most game types i play. Otherwise i would game and buy more than just Sony Exclusives for my PS5. I suppose i could say smaller things like i like the Backwards compatibility and Smart Delivery of the xbox better but again you get the point. But Sony building such a great VR2 set and having god of war is just so great for the industry and players. I would be a fool not to enjoy these products. I just wish everyone would cool it with the my console is better or the choices i made make me better than you have the choices you made. Seems silly when all 3 consoles and PC are great fun and all doing some really fun and exciting things. As for Sony being expensive, i think Sony is trying to be a luxury company. Especially with their TV’s and proprietary technology’s. I bought the LG C1 OLED when i really wanted a Sony OLED, but Sony was more expensive and had less features. Due to they have the Bravia tech inside their TV’s and charge more due to it being a touch better at processing. But to have less 2.1 HDMI’s and no VRR for more money wasn’t a good buy for me. So i hope they can find a way to be more price aware with their Tech as i would like to own more of it if it has the right functions and features with price that is more inline with the competition. Hope that makes sense and sorry for the long explanations. I just know i have to properly explain myself on a Sony site with a Xbox logo as my profile, which i intend to change so i can be less a target.

I disagree, but also don’t care. There were enough AAA games for me with the original PSVR. For PSVR2, If there are enough games to warrant my outlay (which really won’t be hard) that’s what matters. Sure, I’d like it to become popular so it’s more likely to get a new model but…whatever. I buy stuff if it’s worth it to me and this absolutely will be.
