If your backlog’s not already big enough, consider adding one of the largest games of all time to your list: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is currently free to play on PS5 and PS4 – well, until 12PM GMT on 19th December at least. Available to download and play now, any progress you make will be transferrable to the full release, should you plump up the asking fee once the complimentary window expires.
Interestingly, publisher Ubisoft’s also cooked up a referral scheme. If you can successfully convince your friends to try out Eivor’s outing for at least two hours, you’ll unlock rewards, including the Steampunk Set. You will need to successfully get ten friends on board for that latter freebie, so we hope you’ve had a particularly social 2022.
There’s more information on how the referral scheme works through here, and you can download the free weekend trial from the PS Store through here. Will you be sailing back to Britain this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

Tempted to give it a go, but space is limited, so probably not.
@rjejr never mind space..you'll need more than a weekend to even begin the game..its a massive game.
@rjejr always an issue unless you upgrade your ssd. Lucky for me i just deleted some games and now going to download this and give it a go. I'm assuming ill like it, I enjoyed most of the previous games in this series.
Yeah weekend just simply isn't enough to even get started, but it will/might get sone people interested in buying it, considering Ubisoft have a 30 to 50% sale currently this week so
I’ve never been a huge AC fan before this but I have played the main game to the end and now starting on the DLC and absolutely loved the setting and the mythology.
@Wowdustnew @Northern_munkey Yeah, it's all adding up to a no for me. Just started decorating for the holidays, and I have cards to mail. Busy, busy, busy as the magician says.
Whose gonna finish this in a weekend , is this a sick joke 😂😂
I wish they’d put it on PS Plus Essential then rip it away from us completely a week before they offered us a free weekend pass to play it
@nomither6 Someone who rushes thru the story on easy mode and ignores all side quests?
They'd also need to sacrifice some sleep.
